I got tired of tripping over my own swords and having them fall over all the time. I spent a few hours cutting and hammering. This is what I made: It has holds 18 swords.

I made one similar to that years ago, but made the wholes smaller. I will take a picture of it and post it later.
What is the sword in the left hand corner?

The left front corner is a rapier with a swepthilt. Back right corner is also a rapier with a cuphilt. Behind that a classic epee and a classic saber. Here is a better picture of the one you asked about. I picked it up at an SCA event.

That is the original G2 Black Prince (4 lb 1oz) before Clyde gave it a more distilled taper an lightened it up. Here is a close up: It was a little blade heavy. But the blade was among the strongest I have seen. What I think Clyde should do is put a longer handle on that blade and make it a two-hander along with a new name. The longer handle would give it leverage and balance.

Nice rack! (Oh, noes, I never thought I'd say those words to a man ;D) One thing you might consider is putting some cross slats on the bottom like you have on the top (so the bottom is divided into squares too) to keep the swords in better order.

Yeah, I wanted to put cross slates but ran out of wood. I was mostly concerned with stability but it seems very stable. I made this whole thing out of scrapwood that was taking up space and falling over all the time.
I am wondering if I should hang a skirt around the sides or leave the blades in full display. I am thinking more full display.
p.s. I updated the photo to include my axes.

hmm... if I may suggest, probably a skirt around the sides & the back & leaving the front open if you want to give some sort of full blade display Keep us posted, Tsafa.

This blade was the basis for the Ranger Sword. They just added a fuller and made the tip very slightly less pointy. At least according to Clyde. I suggested using that blade, with and without a fuller, as the basis for several swords. I'd love to see a historic based one with 9-10 inch grip, a thin curved guard and a disc pommel. Yeah... And I like your...uh... "?sword crate?" or "?sword cage?" maybe? A suggestion, wrap the sides with an animal hide. Maybe a bear skin with a bear claw necklace draped across the front? It would suite you, my friend. ;D

Hey Tsafa, I have one of those sword racks you hand on the wall but it is full. Now that I have three or four Civil War era Cavalry sabres I have no where to put them. But some time back I made me an upright old west style gun rack like you see on the wall of the Sherriff's office in those old westerns. I stained it and all to make it oldish looking. But I have never used it, preferring to keep my firearms in a metal lock up box.
So I am thinking of using it to stand my sabres and katana in. I have an upright katana stand I keep beside my bed, but here lately my sabre stands in it.
And also Tsafa, I see that longbow up there in your pic! I love a longbow or recurve. FReebooter
