I just got one, and the review's coming soon but I thought I'd give kind of a teaser taste first. I just got this a couple of days ago and it's really a fun piece of protective steel. I only have two gripes with it. First, the pins holding the handle to the shield seem to not have been hammered out as much as they could be. Second, I need to wrap the handle because it's a wee bit slick. Other than that, I'm absolutely in love with this bad boy! It's great! Review coming as soon as I can find my damn camera....

Sounds good. Do you have any of the old fashioned friction (electrical) tape? It works really well for wrapping handles.

Friction tape is not and never has been electrical tape. It conducts electricity. It's old-fashioned grip tape.

Friction tape is not and never has been electrical tape. It conducts electricity. It's old-fashioned grip tape. Correct, however we do use it as mechanical protection over top of vinyl electrical tape. Typically it is found in the electrical section of stores, so I can see how people would call it "electrical" tape. ;D

I always knew it as "friction tape", kind of rubbery and sticky. Only ever saw it used as electrical tape over wirenuts and stuff. WHATEVER it works great for wrapping steel handles for extra grip.

It's Wonderful for a grip tape. But only if there's just no chance that you want to put it down. Friction tape gets old and used enough, you have to use your other hand to pull whatever you're holding out of the hand that grabbed it.
I have a set of juggling sticks made with friction tape and I have to pry them apart to use them. I just put together a new silo-flex sword and used friction tape for the grip. It's not even that old and I already have to take my hand out of my glove and then pull the glove off the handle of my sword.
I LOVE that stuff!
