Apropos of nothing in particular. I was just going through some old photos and I found a couple of a cage hilt schlager I used to have; bought on eBay, sold again a few years later when I had lost most interest in learning rapier. Made me a little sad though, because I love the hilt design, and now realize I should've hung on to it and had someone rehilt a straight sabre-like blade (like a Dark Sentinel) with it. Mostly wanted to share, though I guess now I'm curious: anyone else have any stories & pics of "the one that got away?"

That's an unusual looking guard. I would have tried to hold onto that, too. I don't have photos but I have a ton of stories, mostly of nihonto I found on ebay et al that were sniped out from underneath me. That's happened more times than I care to count. However, I do have a story of a trade; I traded a PPK for a nine foot, twenty-two pound Burmese python. Never regretted it. She's like a long, scaly, legless dog. XD How's that for strange? -MidoriKurogami of Sword N Armory.

Hell, there's a few stories that fit the bill...but none of them to do with swords so I'll not litter the forum. But still...I have no regrets.
