I was just wondering if anyone has one of these, and if they have any issues with them. There's nothing in the review index that I could find.

Heya Avery, yeah I got one, its nice and sharp and the handle is typical hanwei hardwood. Its handle isnt as thin and flat as the Viking Throwing Axe its got a little more to it but its not far off its a little awkward in the hand, but what makes it unweildy as a hand axe is its weight is WAAYYY forward in the head, as is all that mass is front and forward in the axe head and its pretty heavy for what it is ........... in fact I mounted it on a two handed haft and its a pretty quick double hander but the heads to small for that application. I havent thrown it but the edge geometry is thinner then the Viking throwing axe so it would likely stick a bit better.
Likely a good thrower (although I havent tried and your allan foundry bearded will make it look like a piece of crap in my opinion). Not a real hand axe but would likely make a king of camp axe's

Do you think if it had a heavier handle it would balance it out a little better as a one hander? What about the shape of the eye, is it teardrop, rectangular or just round? I'm having a hard time finding a good pic. Thanks again for the info.

Eye is rectangular, the wood handle is waaaaaaaayyyyy to light, yeah a heavier handle would balance it back but gross weight would be quite a lot. The Francisa throwing axe is quite good, a little awkward at first but nice once you used to it

Well, I went ahead and ordered it. Got it today. I was surprised by the handle, and some other things. I'll be doing a review soon, so stay tuned.

Sorry I couldn't add to this earlier, I've been sick, I had the short version and the long version, I like my Broad face better for one handed use, the long handle worked better with the blade design, some times a little awkward, but it is a Ancient design, not modern, Hope you like it...SanMarc.
Again, I had first pic, so I could get a good handle.

Ok, so I thought the handle was decent, then I threw it. I had to replace the handle today. No big deal, but I wish they would use a real hardwood for the handles since they claim these are good for throwing.

I was thinking about this, and the Norse would use Fir for the handles, pluss the way they are made origanley, they were very good for chopping softwood....SanMarc.
