Alright, sounds good. Now I just need to find out what the right geometry is.

Wish I could see it; but knowing Brenno, I'm quite sure it's a beauty.

BW I know, but the site's blocked...believe you me, I'd be on fableblades, tinkerswords and albion all day long if they weren't blocked.
Sad thing is, I CAN see Jake Powning's site but that's like showing a crackhead a half pound rock encased in 3" thick steel and giving him a spoon to dig it out...sure it might be able to be done, but could you imagine what you'd have to go through?
Yea, that's about where I am regarding affording one of THOSE. lol
Or even one of Brenno's, Tinker's, or CF/Gus' stuff.

Ebon: can you view pictures here if they are linked from those sites? Midori: Oh yes, I was extremely wrapped, just like the piece (pun intended)

Alright, sounds good. Now I just need to find out what the right geometry is. Basically, the best shapes seem to be based on the principle that the thickness of the grip is in reverse proportion to it's width. If you look at most medieval swords they will be broad at the cross but taper towards the pommel. However, they'll also have a reverse distal taper - that is, they are thicker and rounder near the pommel. They have the same basic shape as a toothpaste tube, if you will. I once did an experiment with some soft wax to try to find the most ergonomic gripping shape, and ended up with a pistol grip that mostly reminded me of the classic Nintendo light gun. It still had the same old tapering proportions, though.

Sounds good, Anders. Though I'm not sure if a round end will affect edge alignment. Any experience?
