To get right down to it, i can't drive. And i'm also a bit of a Vampire. The sun literally burns my eyes. So i buy most things online. Recently bought 8 pieces of Tulip Poplar from... stores.shop.ebay.com/Ohio-Wood-Shed__W0QQ_armrsZ1Its not bad easy to work and all that. But it only measures 1/4" X 3" X 10. And as i thought its far to thin for me to feel safe making a Tsuka Core from. Been a great practice set of wood so i'm good. Now he'll be posting something like 1/2-1" x 3-4" X 14-16" in a few days. Which is great and i can cut it down to size. But i'd still like another source of quality wood namely Alder, Bass or Poplar. So hoping somebody out there sells or knows a place to buy some. If possible would be nice if it was pre-cut. Thanks in advance for any replies. Take Care!

thanks a lot and +1 for the link. If i buy 2 boards from them can cut em down for 3-4 Tsuka. My local Home Depot sells Poplar in almost any deminsion you can imagine... Just tell me what you need, and I'll get it, cut it to the right length, and ship it to you. Just pay for the wood and shipping, of course. -Slayer

"nods" Indeed gave him a shadow exalt when i saw his post. And for the record looking for something like the following. 1" Thick 3" Wide 10 and 12" long Why thank you, guys. ;D and, LOL, I have a piece that is 1" thick and 3" wide sitting in my room right now not 10 feet away! I got a 1"x3"x4' pice just a few days ago for a tsuka core I'm making, but only needed half of it. I'll cut the rest to your specs and send it your way, if you'll just pay shipping. ;D The piece only cost a few bucks, and I've gotten what I need so no worries about paying for the poplar. Will you PM me your address so I can get a shipping quote? Thanks, and I hope this helps! ;D EDIT: Actually, I just measured it, and the piece is 3/4"x2.5"... would that still work? If you're making a tsuka, as I am, it's fine, though. -Slayer

I would just like to say that I am constantly amazed at the friendliness and willingness/eagerness to help out fellow members on this forum. The amount of decency is almost overwhelming. Who would have thunk it, a bunch of sword wielding obsessive maniacs, all ready to be good samaritans to each other on the interweb...just fantastic, I just wish I had a mega-exalt button for everyone, so for now +1 to slayer... P.S. (I dont know of any good wood suppliers, but thanks everyone for the links)

Just returning the favor, friend Hank. ;D Avery gave me a bunch of supplies for a project I was attempting, including a brand new Jig saw he had laying around, as well as a bunch of 3M sandpaper. Sparky sent me some safety equipment when I asked about what would be needed for a certain project... respirators, goggles, NICE earphone-sound-blocking-things, etc. Brenno gave me great deals on my FB's since he knew that I didn't have much $ to spend (being 14 at the time. ), and Yeoldegaffer spent at LEAST 5-10 hours helping me with leather projects via PM, and even sent me about 5 sq ft of pigskin just because. ;D Those are just SOME of the things that SBG members have done for me... this is really a great community, so I'm just trying to give back a portion of what I've recieved. ;D Not to mention that it's always nice to get to help someone out. Besides, Demetric looks so cool with his claymore that he earned this poplar. lol Anyway, thanks for the karma... I think I'm getting the warm fuzzy feeling! ;D -Slayer

"laughs" Well thanks Slayer. While i'm not the type of guy to be moved by emotion. Or just about anything for that matter. I am a man that can show his gratitude. And am very thankful for you lending me a hand here. Not to mention all the others of SBG. I all but live online even known to go by the name Hikikomori. So its always nice to find a place like this. And if all goes well i'll have some custom work to show you all soon.
