So, im in the middle of re-doing a tsuka and im a bit lost on a couple things. I've already torn down the entire tsuka and re-shaped the core. However, i have no idea what type of glue to attach the same with. Also, there's a little ridge on the same where it looks like it got wrinkled when it was wet and pushed up against the fuchi. Is it safe to just soak it again and try to flatten it out? And also, im going to be doing a katate-maki and this is my first custom, so i have no clue how the menuki sit on top of the ito, and how the ito gets tightened with it like that. Like this: Any input would be greatly appreciated.

if its real same resoaking it should be just fine. when wraping the tsuka just pull the ito tight as F*** over the menuki.
oh and for glueing the same, make very sure you dont use a glue thatexpands when it drys. I like gorilla glue.

Hi Ben! Wrapping the menuki on a katatemaki is easy, but a bit tricky. It's hard to explain so I got one of my old tsuka, excess ito, spare menuki and did a quick wrap and took pictures of the steps on how to wrap the menuki and tuck the ito underneath it. I updated my katatemaki thread, posted the pictures to the original post. /index.cgi?board=swordcustom&action=display&thread=6275 Let me know if it was useful.
