I'm posting this just in case someone who might interested has not seen the posts in the SBG Special Projects Forum. We have been working with Matt from BKS ( www.baltimoreknife.com/)to design a sword specifically for the members of SBG. We have decided on a fantasy-ish style bastard sword. Many of our members have submitted designs and votes were tallied. We are down to the three most popular designs. If you are interested in getting in on this sword go to this link, /index.cgi?board=projects&action=display&thread=12666&page=1, look over the choices and, if you are serious in buying, vote for your favorite 2 designs. One more round of voting will choose from the 2 winners from this round. Matt has promised to have these all done by the holidays. The price has yet to be determined though it will fall between $350 and $450. Further customization will most likely be offered at extra cost. Please note that the normal retail price of these blades would be at least double and that Matt is doing this as a huge favor to our forum.

Thanks for posting this, Chris! ;D I meant to do the same a few days ago, but life caught up to me in the form of schoolwork and a messed up internet connection. Anyway, +1 for the effort; you've done as much for this project as I have. -Slayer

Glad to help out. And I disagree. You have done a lot more than I. I see myself more of a Robin to your Batman And teclis22 and Brendan have both done a lot, when it was needed most, to get this project off the ground. Thanks everyone!

And even if you're not into the fantasy sword buy something else from BKS.
Not everyone is willing to go to these kinds of lengths to support the community--and the best way thank them for their generosity is to support their business.

As an update: The two final sword designs have been selected. BKS has the blades of both cut and and beveled. Anyone interested in seeing them so far can go here: /index.cgi?board=projects&action=display&thread=12796&page=1Once the prototypes are completed the final round of voting will begin and a winner will be chosen.
