Does anyone have a Ritter Steel Celtic or know if it's a decent sword? KOA lists the weight as 2lb. 10oz. so not really too heavy and the price seems pretty good. It has a threaded pommel, but I think I could live with that for the price. I might be able to shorten the handle slightly, drill the pommel, and peen the tang.....What do you guys think?

Rittersteel= sword-shaped junk, IMO. I believe that RicWilly has this sword, though, so maybe he can be a bit more enlightening. ;D -Slayer

That bad huh....I think the one RicWilly has is the Kris Cutlery Celtic, which is out of my price range at the moment I'm sorry to say....He might have the Ritter Steel Celtic too for all I know.

How much experience have you had with ritter Slayer?
I have personally seen and handled the model you are asking about. It is quite heavy for a single hander, although it does sing quite well when dry handling. It has a great deal of blade presence with a tip heavy bias. I have never cut with one and I have never sharpened one so I can't tell you about the steel. It is a nice looking sword that will give your arms a workout if nothing else. It is also solidly put together. If you can't afford anything else and don't want to wait, I don't think you have another celtic option. Depending how much you are paying for it, it can be a steal or it can be not worth the money. If you can get it for a steal then go for it.

I don't have the RS celtic tho I do like the look of it. I have a couple RS blades, a full tang kat and a gladius. I like the Kat and it cuts decent once I got an edge on it. The gladius not so much, way heavy and too thick to cut well. I saw a video of a guy cutting with the RS Celtic, it did the job.

Thanks bloodwraith and RicWilly for giving some solid info. gathered from first hand experience! If it's a bit on the hefty side and a little tip heavy that's okay with me for this type of sword. Might pick one up at some point......
