Well i was going to put it off. But eh to be cliche, no time like the present. Moving along if you look to your left, you'll see me with a claymore wall hanger. Now if ya look down below that you see i live in Denver, Co.
Bout 3 months ago i ordered a Cheness Shirasaya from the SBG sword store. Pretty sure in the email Paul sent he said it was coming from a warehouse in China. Now that seemed to clear customs with no problem.
But again to be cliche, rather be safe than sorry. So in short do i have anything to worry about? Looked around already and can't seem to find much on it. Which could be a good thing. Or it could mean a seized blade or a slight increase in total cost.
So just wondering if anybody has shipped a blade from China to the US. And if so did you have to pay any tariffs? Know in places like Ca this may be different. Thanks in advance for any and all info.
Take Care!

I have ordered plenty of antiques and jade from China over the years. I have never had to pay a tax on anything to date.

Why thank ya for the quick reply. Didn't really wanna make a thread for something i knew wouldn't take long to answer. But didn't want it to come back and bite me either. So thanks again, if you can order antiques with no problem. Then really doubt i got anything to worry about

Since import taxes is mostly a federal matter it shouldn't matter which state you live in. If it clears customs at the port of entry you should get it no matter where you live. Paul usually does a good job with customs so I wouldn't worry too much. If it was shipped "cheapest way" it could take a while though.
