Well I suppose one would look at the Courtrai Falchion of Angus Trims on Christian Fletchers website and imagine it a fraction rougher and 200 bucks cheaper .......... or is that assumption being to blunt

I don't know if the design is actually based off of an existing ATrim blade or not... I'll ask Sonny about it; I'm going to call him tomorow about a Windlass that I may want customized by the CSS anyway. ;D -Slayer

Slayer, more than likely it is...at least up until now all of the Practical and Signature line pieces come with Trim-designed blades...makes sense they'd continue in that fashion. Gus has a lot of good looking blade models...I've not seen this Courtrai falchion but I'll try to tonight.

True, and I'm sure that the blade is designed by Gus. All I'm questioning is whether or not it is based on a Falchion he produces, or made from scratch. Either way, we've got a SWEET new sword. ;D -Slayer

Mmm...falchion. If it beats the Malatesta out (or is out less than a month after), I might be getting it instead. I can't wait to see what it looks like. I love the functionality of Gus' blades, and I can't imagine he'd design a crappy one, so this is going to be the one to watch, I think. Also, I agree. CSS Falchion makes me drool a little.

well Mike said Sonny was eyeing his falchion and the day he was there and both of the existing ATrim falchions are very similarly shaped so I am expecting one of that shape but you never know, Gus and Sonny may have a surprise for us.

Yeah I like surprises too but my money is on it being based off gus's existing falchion

This really isn't new news for some of us; it needs some concrete updating though. I mentioned this a couple weeks back in another thread; the VA Practical Falchion has been showing up as a VA306S on my distributor price list for a few months now (screenshot below). I wonder if its just conjecture on what may be marketed or if there is an actual design floating around out there somewhere under wraps. Seems odd that a price and stock number would be assigned to something that is not in existence yet, nay? I personally would love to the the Courtrai made into a VA Practical or even Signature sword. I'd make an exception to my personal rule never to pre-order and order one in advance. However, with the Aticum, Hedemark, Malatesta, and Crusader still on the production plate, there is no telling how long this falchion would take to come to light. I suppose we'll have to wait and see. Perhaps Sonny has some input on this? Attachments:

Awesome! ;D Thaks for the news, 'Gaard. I assumed that this would be called the 306S, but I wasn't sure if VA was planning a blunt version as well (which would have been the 305B), so I didn't know. Thanks for the confirmation! That is good to know. And with the MSRP being $269, that beauty will probably be sold for $215ish at places like KoA and SwordNation! I think that Sonny must actually be a pocketbook demon, intent on emptying us of every penny we own... But doing so by giving us the best deals possible! Just, well... lot's of 'em. I'll ask Sonny about a release date, but I doubt that he knows any more than I do; or, at least, not MUCH more. Thanks for the interest everyone! ;D -Slayer
