if it's that slight, it just might. 3/8 of an inch along the WHOLE blade is a bend that most people wouldn't notice I think.

Veldruk, I handed you a karma for being so cool about me taking your thread off in another direction for a bit and also because your sword got bowed and, well, I'd be pretty bummed and I don't think they'll let us start up a fund to donate money to you and if they would I'd want one too which come to think of it might not be a bad idea...but, I digress...anyway I gave you a plus 1.

I kinda like that about the C/H Tinker line, either hex nut or peened replacement blades at good prices for replacement.

HA HAH!
Well, the bend is out, as slight as it was. The clamp thing produced little results, so last night before going to bed I took a 2x4, clamped the blade down with some wood working clamps, nothing to tight, and laid the thing out on the dash of my car.
Just went out to pick it up and I'll be darned if the thing isn't straight!
It was either the dash thing or I was gonna go and buy an electric blanket for it to rest in... which I still might do the electric blanket the further we move into winter. I was hesitant to try the blow torch as I'm pretty sure there was more room for error with applying to much heat.
So as far as the 304s goes, it's heat treat is wonderful and heating it up just a little bit seems to straighten it back out.

Cool beans! I've got the warm fuzzies just thinking about you and your straight sword. Wait...that didn't come out right...
