You know, those don't really jump out at me, but thats probably due my preference of western blades. Still, it does look fairly nice. Go ahead Krieg, take the plunge for us.

Wish I could, but unemployment has a way of cutting into the blade budget (no pun intended). ;D

That's a nice looking long knife...been thinking of adding one to my collection, I love the blade profile...but not that price. It can wait. At that price, I can get another sword, albeit Windlass. LOL
Ah, they're not that bad, some of'm.

Nice to see that windlass is starting to branch out into weapons that are not so well known. Also that thing is not a knife it is a sword.

I agree. With a blade length of 22 5/8" it qualifies as a short sword, though it does have a more knife-like appearance.

Its a bloody long knife to me. ;D Whether it be a sword or knife, in the proper hands, I bet it'd do some damage!

I'd buy it for the blade, strip off the handle and the weird ornamentation and go for a more tactical feel because the blade shape is rather exquisite but the handle would annoy me no end.

I felt, as the newscaster said in another context, a tingle go up my leg when I saw this. Maybe I've spent too much time reading Howard's El Borak stories (and let's not forget Kirby O'Donnel, "the false Kurd"!), too much time reading Kipling and George Macdonald Fraser . . . but when I see a Khyber knife, well, wheee doggies!
I am strongly tempted by this, even though I've been more interested in other sword styles lately, "just because."
With the "sorta pipe-back" blade, what I'm pretty sure is full-tang construction, Windlass' generally pretty good steel and tempering, and the "location factor"--- since its a Subcontinental knife from the Subcontinent---, it's a neat little bundle. In my imagination I can see Avery doing hawk and long knife drills with it.
I'm gonna slowly stalk this one.

Has a similiar profile to the eastern knife they advertise...altho that one has a dark blue felt covered sheathe and is designed for behind the back carry? I can't for the life of me remember the name, only that the blade shape was interesting and unlike the rest of the knives and daggers they have for sale.

KC, no, but I that's another one you could call similar. I think it was marketed as a, how do I say it, as a weapon one might've found on a sailor who sailed the seas of the eastern orient. I got the feeling there was an Indian motif on the blade itself that matched with some metalwork on the scabbard, which was covered in dark blue felt. Lovely, lovely blade...why o why can I not remember this damn thing. Came to a wicked point, just like the Charay.
You know, I'll have to check my catalog at home; this 'Charay' could be the exact knife I'm referring to....no, no it can't. I remember now, this one's almost 28" in length, the knife I'm talking about would've topped at 15, max. I'll look it up, can't see anything GOOD here at work.

what I'm pretty sure is full-tang construction The description mentions a "full tang profile" which I'd assume means the tang is visible all the way round the grip (like the Qama). As such, it shouldn't be terribly tough to customize for those (like bloodwraith) who would prefer a simpler hilt.
