Hi! I finally got around to laying out my collection of sharp pointy objects and taking their pictures. I have a few other daggers and swords, but due to limited space on my bed I chose only the ones I was most proud of 1.) Windlass Sword of Tiberius Kingdom of Heaven replica. 2.) Windlass Falchion 3.) Windlass Ring pommel Irish bastard sword 4.) My first sword modification project. A cheap ninjato that I stripped down, and turned into a bamboo sword-cane 5.) Hank Reinhardt's Dordogne sword 6.) Hanwei Damascus Jian 7.) Hanwei Qi Jian 8.) Antique Klewang 9.) Marto Duncan MacLeod katana 10.) Marto Connor MacLeod katana (if you look carefully you can see where I snapped the handle in half being a stupid kid...) 11.) The "official" Highlander katana... Never was on any of the movies or series episodes, and the only reason I bought it was to fill out my 3-sword stand with highlander katanas... 12.) My Sei Bu Mon Tang Dynasty Court Jian [edit:] I meant that... really I did 13.) Bugei Wave katana 14.) Wire-wrapped steel swept hilt rapier (think it's windlass, but has no marks) 15.) Glamdring... the old one... offered by the Noble Collection waaaaaaaaay before the movies. 16.) Gold limited edition Hibben Dragonlord. 17.) Rosewood Tachi. 18.) Well constructed polearm I bought at a gamer con.

Very nice collection, although it would be more appropriate to post it in the member's collection here: /index.cgi?board=collections Thanks for sharing Edit: By the way, the Sei Bu Mon Han jian is more of a Tang Dynasty court Dao.

I love the Qi Jian. I plan on writing up a full review of it, but I want to wait until I sharpen it for cutting. Out of the box it's a tad dull.

Very nice. Can you tel us something on the Rosewood Tachi. I myself have been looking for a authentic collectors one. I saw one at a collectors show some time ago but unfortunately / fortunately (would not be able to run fast enough) it was behind glass and I could just look. Great collection.

What you have listed under #8 as a an antique "Klewang" is partly true. In Indonesia, they would typify this type of blade into the "klewang' class, but this sword is actually from Mindanao, the southern region of the Phillippines.
What you have there is actually called a "Kampilan", and it looks to be a very good one at that. The Kampilan generally was a status symbol. Many noblemen would wear it to differentiate themselves from the commoners and generally speaking they were only used as ceremonial blades. Some, however, did see use in battle and all were made with that intention, even if they were mostly for ceremony.
Could you post more shots of the hilt? It looks authentic from what i can see and I could determine its authenticity if I got a closer look at the hilt. Some counterfeit Kampilan make their way onto the market every now and then so people get stuck with fake antiques every so often, but I think this one could be the real deal. If so, great find!

Which is the pre-movie Glamdring from Noble Collection? I'm assuming it does not look like the UC one as I don't recognize one among the swords pictured. Is it the one with the monstrous guard/grip, etched/silkscreened design on the blade?
I love the Tiberias...almost bought Kristie's but talked myself out of it.

It's not a genuine tachi, just a wall hanger. I don't even know what company made it. It was given to me as a gift from a friend's father. It is very pretty though! Awesome! Thanks for the clarification. Here are the closeups of the hilt: The fuzzy stuff in the pictures is dust... I haven't taken it down off the wall in a while... I would really appreciate anything you could tell me about this sword. It was found among my grandfather's posessions after he passed away so I don't know any of its history. I do know that he was military and could have easily been in the Phillippines at some point. It's the huge sword with the gaudy golden hilt and large bronze tines with red cabochauns(sp?) on the tips. And yes, the tiberius sword is awesome. I adore the simple cord-wrapped hilt. It's a great cutter too, despite being machine-sharpened. I'm contemplating re-sharpening all of my windlass blades when my sander comes in to get rid of that secondary bevel.

Yup that is a Kampilan alright. Although wikipedia is not the best source for learning about a kampilan, yours looks awfully similar to the kampilan used in wikipedia's web page: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kampilan
