Hi everyone. Are there any other UK forum members out there? I live in Cheshire in the UK and have just ordered my first custom katana through Paul. I was wondering if anyone else had ordered and had delivered a custom katana . Would like to hear about your experience regarding customs etc. related to your sword delivery to UK.Look forward to any helpful feedback. Cheers. Allan.

Hi I haven't tried getting in any new made katana since the ban. I've had a couple of Edo period nihonto without too much problem although I did have to write to customs giving full details of the swords and the seller's description. I will be very interested to hear how you get on as I would like to expand my collection with a traditionally made, but modern, tachi.

There is no "ban" at the moment, it was lifted, well readjusted. Kenpachi is the best person to speak to on this topic. I find it strange that a legal item can be held and then we pay for the privilege. One might think that customs only hold the items to charge the admin fees...etc. Sucks to be in the UK.
Sorry, back on topic, you shouldn't have a problem in the long run. You will get your sword. You may just have to jump through a few hoops to get it.
If we could pool enough UK members could we get together and bulk order? There must be enough of us that we can do SOMETHING about the lack of choice and price.

I thought customs may "cash in" on the import. One way of raising money I suppose. I think the pooling together idea is a good one. Just need a few UK members. I guess I'll just have to get my hoop jumping gear on eh? Thanx for the feedback. Keep you posted.
