Once again, Sam comes to the rescue... ;D Good find, man. And at those prices, it's hard NOT to get one; and I don't even like straw/bamboo hats! ;D LOL -Slayer

Actually I was thinking of something more like this. Got any contacts in Japan? My persona in the SCA is Japanese and I've been trying to find a hat like that for ages. Sadly none are produced for export to the USA... or anywhere outside of Japan apparently however I've heard of people coming back with them from visiting Japan. Perhaps you should schedule a trip to Japan.

Nice find Sicheah! Very good prices too but I wonder what shipping costs would be...

Why not just take the picture to a basket weaver and have one made?

Know you a basket weaver? I know not of one locally.

I think it is cheaper to get one made locally. If you import from Japan it cost roughly $60-$90 and adding shipping cost of a 3-5lb product... it is not going to be cheap. Sometimes it pays to support your local industry .

Another option might be to go to any local community colleges and check out the art department--you might be able to hire a student.
