Hey Billiam, I was thinking of heading up that way, I've never been to that one. About some of the events, I see they have an axe throw, but it says nothing of entry fees, prizes and such. Do you have to be up to date on your clan dues to participate, and do you have to be kilted? I was just curious about that and any prizes/fees involved. Thanks.

hey Avery,
think the axe throw is just a sort of "for funnzies" deal and not connected to the highland games part of the faire. Attire is pretty much what ever you wish. It's not a big event...crowds usally depend on the weather...last year it frellin' rained all day Saturday, so we only got to do our demos of Sunday.
Let me know if you do decide to come up for certain....
cheers

i'd be interested, but i'm in Ohio unfortunately...
at least there is the Ohio festival. It's pretty cool, but then again the only one i have ever gone to... so i can't be a good judge. haha.
What is your tunic made of, though... random question, but i have always liked how it looks.

Well...yesterday was a total frelling wash out...no demo's done, very few patrons about the only thing we managed to do was to try to stay dry and warm and keep as much of the moisture away from the swords.
Weatherman needs his head on a pike pole!
Hoping today the clouds will part and we'll be able to get our demo's done, meet and talk with lots more folks and just enjoy the day.
Maybe will get some pics and video of the display and demo's.

sunday was dry but the wind blew hard all day and we nearly lost the tent a few times. Several folks did have their tents blow down. Wasn't able to get any video's of our demo's -it was justWill and I for the biggest part of Sunday (Gary showed up with 2 1/2 hr's of the faire left - he was flying back from TX- he plays drums for Journey tribute band - Frontiers). Did get some photo's, so here are some..... RSG banner the RSG founders - Gary Hall, myself, Will Goodwin the tent my side of the display - antiques & repro's Will's side - all antique's Will's original Persian horseman's helmet & shield tables
