I know this replica is not new to many here, but I just had to show it off.
Paul Southern graciously helped me through some questions about this sword. I was enamoured from the moment I set eyes on the original back in 1981 when I first saw the movie. Many years have past since then. I just started getting interested in swords here this summer, after collecting firearms for many years. This website was more or less my gateway to this very exciting and interesting hobby. It was through this website that I found that replicas of the Excalibur sword had been made. Basically two worthy ones. This one and the Albion Discerner. I did not want to pay $2k if $322 would work. Paul felt I should give it a go with this one. I am so glad I did. I could not be happier. The workmanship on this sword is just beautiful. It's presence says Beauty, Power, Excellence.
I love Excalibur... the sword, and the movie the sword you got is from. I have been VERY tempted in the past to buy one of those... very tempted indeed.
You owe it to yourself to get one of these if you love that movie and story. The presence of this sword is at least 5x what you see in these and other pics of it. Paul was right in saying that this sword is a gem.

Yeah, handful is right. I just weighed mine and it was 4 lb 10 oz on my digital scale.
But it is a LOT of sword.
I'm still marveling at how well everything is executed on this sword. The fuller is beautiful. Dang near perfect. Beautiful pommel. Well cut and a very good peen on it. Lovely quillon too. The Lady of the Lake would be well pleased.
You know something? That's one of the nicest Excaliburs I've ever seen. Simple yet elegant without looking like a toy. Liking the grip too. A good choice, doctorxring
Ten4 on the handle being a bit too long. I've thought about using part of the $1600 I saved over the Discerner to have the handle shortened a bit.
But I tell you what, I think Generation 2 got the blade profile more closely than what is on the Albion Discerner. Of course, the Albion sword is not patterned after the Excalibur sword, but the Jim Lindsey heritage sword that just coincidentally looks like the Excalibur movie sword. At least the sword that is used in the rising sword in the Lady of the Lake scene. There is probably more than one prop sword used in this movie.
Check out this video -- it has a lot of clips of the sword in the movie --
HiDef version here -- takes a while to load, but worth it --
Beautiful sword, it looks great! Simple, yet elegant! Now, my only question is...does it have a green glint to it THAT would be really cool
I actually watched this movie again on Netflix through their streaming mode (I have it on VHS but...I don't have a VHS player anymore...).The guy who played Merlin did an awesome job with the "crazy wizard" persona...I think I laughed every time he spoke ;D
mrstabby: Been thinking the same - but the person that set up the page might not be there anymore and old code gets messy when not maintained. Might be a "repair subscriptions, destroy function X, repair X, destroy Y" situation by now - would mean a total overhaul.

choseychas: Huh. Is there no fix on our side then? Or is it that you need to contact an admin since the auto system is down?

choseychas: That's what I figured, wasn't sure if it had become a limited club where you have to know someone to get in or what was going on.

eastman: that situation has been constant at MyArmoury for the last 2-3 years

choseychas: Anyone have any info on MyArmoury registration? Been wanting to make an account for a year or more (can't remember at this point) but every time I've checked they've halted registrations.

alinkinthechain: I also do love Boston. I've traveled a bit and nothing feels as wonderful as that city to me. I'm lucky to live nearby

txhighlander: Boston might be my fav. So much history, and clean! and great food. New York was cool for a day to see iconic landmarks

blackngold: Dallas is the worst place in the country to fly in and out of. High winds can delay your flight by 6.5 hours and leave you sitting on the tarmac for an additional 2 (ask me how I know)...

nerdthenord: Oh I’ve been there lol, I’m in Texas. Dallas is certainly not high on my travel list lol
