I dunno. I just stumbled across this while looking for Dao on Ebay.

A brand new Jin-Shi Da Dao cost $170 excluding shipping. This one has been used and it also says "has minor repairs to it". With 3 days left in auction $100 is what I would personally expect and I would also expect the price to go up somewhat. I am not really into Da Dao right now and yeah $100 is a pretty decent price at the moment.
If you are interested in Da Dao, ask the seller a few question regarding the Da Dao before placing bid.

Asked him a couple questions about the sword: What damages he meant and what he's used it for.
His answer: "The guard came with a slight wobble. When it was sent once, it also received a slight bend at the very tip thanks to an careless delivery man. I have repaired those damages. I have hacked underbrush and chopped trees with this Dao and it was not damaged because of it. The blade is in good condition and lots of fun to use, but I wouldn't lie about the minor damages it's received. Is there anything else you'd like to know? "

Should I get it? I really want one of the Jin Shis, or any Dadao, but the handle's too small!

If I had more money, I'd already have asked ya'll not to bid on it so I could get it. But, alas, I don't have more money, so bid away...

Just don't bid until it is higher than $170 . Well zerodao, this da-dao is based on a compact version during Sino-Japanese WW2 so the handle is a little short. You can either get a Hanwei dadao, or get one custom-made with Garrett at Jin-Shi, or get this one

The small handle is a tough call , I have learn to love my small handle Jin Shi Da dao and after touching up the edge it seem to work just fine for me.
I am a bit concern about seller using it to chop tree branches but Taran's post ensure us that there is no damage cause by such treatment of the sword.

I am a bit concern about seller using it to chop tree branches but Taran's post ensure us that there is no damage cause by such treatment of the sword. Ditto. May be no damage the seller can see... but that kind of heavy abuse takes its toll on a sword, even unseen stresses in the steel, especialy at weaker junctions of the steel. I buy many, if not most of my swords second hand, but I would not buy one from someone who did that with it.
