Now somebody has to get the ball head war club and review it. I can just imagine how hard that thing will hit. Our forumites who own the CS poly boken speak highly of their durability, and CS has pictures of a truck parked on one of their poly baseball bats, so I would expect the club to be equally tough. I'm sure you'll find out.
Hope you feel better, K

Polypropylene. Yeah, its one solid peice. I used to work in an injection molding plant, if I had to guess, I'd say the spike was put into the mold, then the poly was injected. Theres no way for me to tell how deep the.... tang?.... goes into the stock. But I will say this, after your last post, I took it outside and knocked it against a 4by4.not real hard, but by no means soft, and it left a helluva dent in the wood. No damage to the stock at all. If I can manage it, I'll do a quick vid tomorrow of me throwing and some durability test. Nothing destructive, but enough where folks can get the sense of it. I look forward to seeing it... I'm so torn... I'm fairly certain the Polypropylene will be stronger, and will ware less then a wood one... but... its just so... plastic looking. It bugs me. I have to decide... do I want style or substance I guess.

Well,I think I have a plan for tomorrow. I couldn't get ahold of a video camera, but I found a digital to borrow. It'll take short videos, albeit low quality. Problem is I can't edit the videos, so they'll be fairly raw. Also, I'm open to suggestions for any kind of tests. I figured I'd to a short vid on throwing, then another on letting it over/uder rotate. Smack it against a 4by4 a few times, but thats really about it unless you guys want to see something in particular.

HAHAHAHA, I could do that, but there's too many homeless people missing already, and my crawlspace is starting to smell again. @ Wambo, thanks for the compliments.

Thanks for the videos. I like the way the target rocks back when the club hits!
Yeah, we tend to forget about some of the old standbys like Dixie. The DGW catalog is way more useful than their website. Easier to find what you're looking for and printed on hundreds of pages of nice soft paper with pictures and directions and interesting stuff to read.

Great Vids Avery... I love when it went ahead and stuck after you steped further back! Heh... That thing looks DAMN tough... I think I'm going to go ahead and grap one... do some alterations... add leather and paint on it some, make it less 'plastic. Sure seems like the thing is built super, super tough... and will hold up better then wood, can't let the plasticly look scare me off from a damn good weapon. Thanks!

Nice job Avery; I've eyed the Atlanta Cutlery/MRL version which I believe is made of wood- but it doesn't look nearly as business-like as the CS one.

Wow Avery, I didn't realize throwing these you could stick a target. Props on the Video man. To be fair... while it looks like it throws VERY well and with a lot of power... which is AWESOME... not everyone will have the same result as Avery when throwing this. He has a LOT of experinces with throwing knives, 'hawks and whathaveyou... I'm not very good myself, but my father was very good... and I can see from Avery's vids that he knows his buissness as well. This Warclub looks to be one TOUGH nasty weapon tho... I expect to be picking up one very soon, credit Avery's review for that 100%.

Having bought one, my initial surprise was that it feels so much heavier than I had imagined from the listed weight of 22oz.. But you also know once you give one a swing just what you're dealing with... not just broken bones or bruises but "Crippled for life." Fellows, this is no mere plaything. 100% Agree. Yeah,It always happens like that. I take 2 full steps back and still stick it. But If I wanted it to stick, it'll over roatate every time. I guess the target just likes making me look stipid. I'm also going to change the look of it too, when I get time. Like I told Richard on his forum, the more I handle it, the more I like it. Nice job Avery; I've eyed the Atlanta Cutlery/MRL version which I believe is made of wood- but it doesn't look nearly as business-like as the CS one. I''ve been told that those had problems with the stocks splitting if you'd hit them wrong on the target, so I gave those a pass too. Wow Avery, I didn't realize throwing these you could stick a target. Props on the Video man. You mean you never saw last of the mohicans? If Chingachgook can do it, well so can I. I'll tell ya one thing, when you pick one of these up, one of the first things you'll think about is what it'd do to some ones shins.

I suspect the first thing I'll want to do with it is break Magua's arm and mess him up. ;D

MAN, that is a tough Thing!!! I thought I'd only find swords here, this was an AWESOME surprise! Thanks Avery. Karma when I can figure out how to. Question, Whats the point of the fawns foot? Seems like it would hinder throwing but I could be wrong.

I would think that it also helps prevent the club from slipping out of your hand. The flare would stop at the base of a hammerfist grip, obviously. But maybe I'm just psychotic. -Slayer

Yeah, the rounded knurls are more indictcative of the plains indians while the fawns foot is closer to the eastern/woodland tribes. Also, the plains indians used a longer handle. In the pictures in history part of the review, the first 2 are eastern and the last is midwestern.

Awsome and very informative review . I handle this weapon quite a few time but it feels so strange to me and I doubt my ability to defeat Magua with this club but after watching your video it kind of give me inspriation (and good excuse to get one ) ;D
