Thank you everyone! If your interested in a sword from John Lundemo his website is odinblades.com, he has contact information there.
As far as price goes I would be happy to send you a pm. Although, the blade steel was made by Jerry Rados and im not sure that he would do another one. I know John has made several mono-steel zweihanders which are all very nice looking aswell. Plus its a cost cutter not to go damascus. Going damascus will double or triple the cost.

I've made 4 zweihanders and many other long two hand swords including no dachi. They have ranged in price from very low to extremely high due to details and size/difficulty and especially materials, but we must also add economy. This seems to be the case with everything right now except gasoline. It is a buyers market. People looking for a custom sword can go to several reputable smiths and get very different quotes on projects. Can't tell ya how many times I went back and forth with a potential customer over emails and helped to design exactly what he or she wants and then after several hours have been waisted over weeks, was told that they have decided on a different smith after all. Next thing ya know the sword I was to make is in the forums sometimes looking very close to what I was going to make. I get inquiries all the time and am on the computer in the morning and at night answering them and will continue to do it. Haven't figured the exact ratio but I bet only one out of fifty inquiries turns into an Odin. But I try to stay on top of it none the less, part o' the yob:) Most of my customers and I enjoy a ton of communication and have fun with this stuff. Others are like lawyers, "to the letter" types. I like to please these folks as well;) Just would preffer if everyone would not take this stuff so seriously.

Congratulations! That is a fantastic looking sword! Seems a bit small though I actually laughed out loud when I read this. Fantastic, bravo to the smith and great green envy to the owner. Wish I had the right adjectives other than repeating wow, over and over again.

I have several different projects in mind... and different smiths in mind for them. For me, certain ideas/projects just lend them to a certain makers style. By the time I'm talking to a maker about a particular idea, I am already sure that THATS the guy I want to make THAT sword. I would never 'shop it around' so to speak. I take it upon myself to look over a makers work and learn about them... so that I know what sort of style they have, and who's style best fits a certain project. You and I may talk someday... but sadly, it won't be soon. If/when we DO speak tho, it will be about a project I'm sure of, and we won't be talking about it unless I already decided YOUR the guy for it. hopelessidiot: Brenno was not indicating you, specifically, could not afford it. Its a saying... a common turn of phrase. "If you have to ask how much, then you can't afford it." I assure you it was not a personal comment about your finances, but just the use of a very common idiom.

So THAT's who that was for... I remember John posting pics of a beast of a sword not too long ago. Jerry Rados dasmascus steel and all...
hopelessidiot, Mr. Lundemo's pieces range from $450 - 5000+ depending on piece and degree of extra customization. I think I got that right, but John'll correct if I'm not. Just from what I've seen of his work, it is worth every cent.

John, I will promote you till the day I die! I couldnt be happier with the sword. I wish everyone could be as satisfied with something as I am with this sword.
John mentioned the economy affecting prices. A custom sword can be yours if you budget properly and take advantage of falling prices on swords and payments while the sword is being made. It took a long time to get this sword, and plenty of time to save money and make payments. I would never be able to plop down what I ultimately paid all at once, but over months and months its not so bad. Consider this when when planning a custom, John will work with your situation im sure. And you can trust in his ability to make you what you want no matter what the cost!

Jordan, rare piece nice score indeed! I got to handle the blade before it was polished and mounted, it was very impressive!

If you read my post carefully you will see that it is full of sarcasm. I respect Brenno and wish I had one percent of his talent. I hope he saw the sarcasm, I had no intentions of pissing him off.
