Discontinued by Cold Steel. Out of stock everywhere. Almost no chance to find one new... Even eBay is empty. But there must be some place that sells it. Any of you guys know where it can be found? My life feels incomplete without a stabby machete.

Truth be told it is gone for good. I've seen a few sites on sale a few months ago. I kinda like it and should have stockpile it at that time.
By the way, don't purchase it from Product Wizard, they have very low ratings.
You could try the classified and ask if they have one still available.

Yup, I was using links like these. Most of the stores all seemed fishy to me, but thank you for the link. Truth be told it is gone for good. I've seen a few sites on sale a few months ago. I kinda like it and should have stockpile it at that time. By the way, don't purchase it from Product Wizard, they have very low ratings. You could try the classified and ask if they have one still available. Agh, same here. I was on the fence between that and a few other Cold Steel machete styles. I ended up getting the Kukri-esque without realizing the Kopis was becoming extinct! You mean this one? MWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!You cruel, cruel man. I was thinking about doing that.

Goodness, that thing is ugly. Of course, when I think of a kopis, I'm thinking of at least something like this:

Right. And you would use that for chopping wood?

No, I'd use an axe for that...

Oh, brush? That's different. No, I'd use a real machete for brush.

Hey, I've always been fond of a good machete. I just haven't seen one in this thread yet.

Random, since you seem to be obsessed with dissing the OP and my opinion about machetes, why not show us yours? I'm sure it will be awsome!

Don't have one. Don't need one, don't want one. Just not fond of this one. In other words, tee hee.

Oh please explain! Have you ever used one? What kind? What features do you consider to be best for a machete? What features about the kopis do you not like? Just wondering if you have any real opinions or if you're just trying to be "random".

You nailed it there. Though I would be more than hesitant to use a machete of that size and shape (especially with a tip that overly-acute) on any real substance. It wouldn't be much fun to take that in the eye. I prefer a rounder belly, and less point. Weight should be more toward the tip, not along the first 2/3 of the spine. That little bit of curve there at the end of the back would probably not be much help, either. Cold Steel sells based on hype and funny designs that from any other company would be ruled out as fantasy-based nonsense. IF that thing looked ANYTHING like a kopis...it still wouldn't make a very good machete...because a kopis is not a machete. Of course...a machete is not a kopis, either. ;D

While not trying to start any trouble and with respect to random, I have noticed that he/she always has something negative to say in almost every thread. Everything someone else wants is always ugly. lol. Either he/she is the biggest troll on the site or the foremost authority on all bladed weapons. I am leaning toward the latter.

No, I wouldn't want to get the point in the eye either. Of course, you have to be careful with any sharp implement so as to avoid injury. In fact, it is with this in mind that I got this machete. I suppose it would be different if I were in a jungle situation where a larger, more tip heavy blade would be an actual advantage. For my purposes of just cutting brush and kindling I find the shorter, mid-weighted blade to be better. Easier to control, if you will. The pointed tip can be useful too for prying. It's 1055 steel so pretty robust. I guess we will just have to agree to disagree.

I suppose for small tasks like you mentioned it should do the trick...but I'd feel much safer and in better control with a pair of gardening shears...then again it depends how big your kindling is.
Prying is the job of a crowbar...but if you want to use your machete for that, go for it. A claw hammer would even be better...but to each their own.
I do agree that we do disagree, but this doesn't particularly impede my (or your, I hope) daily life.

To use shears for removing sticks from firewood would be unnecessarily tedious, and I was not talking about prying metal. Please try to be reasonable in your responses or I shall be forced to agree with the previous poster.
