Ok just to let every one know the Achilles sword got here about a week ago and the sword was great but the scabbard (as a few of you stated was all wrong). It didnt fit the sword all the way to the top.I wrote an email to Chris at Scorpion and he phoned me about an hour later and said it was the first wood scabbard he had made for the Achilles sword. He kind of envisioned kind of a conan thing where you could see the engravings on the blade. I told him how i had envisioned it with the handle fitting in the scabbard by cutting notches in the scabbard so it all fit together. Chris asked me to send back the sword (he paid shipping) and he would make me a new wood scabbard for it. Well if you check the Achilles webpage now there is a different scabbard pictured, the new one he made me.The sword looks great in it and he even lined it. I was nervous about having to put something between the handle and the scabbard so the woods wouldnt scratch on each other but he had already done it with some felt like material that matches the wood almost exactly. Well as i said it just arrived and i havent had time to get to know it yet (no not biblically) so i will write a proper review at a later date. I just thought what Chris did to make me happy with my purchase was dam good.

Awesome to hear he took such good care of you... I love working directly with makers who stand behind their products like that. This makes me want to get on of his peices even more. I look forward to hearing how the sword performs...

Personally, I don't like the blockiness of that scabbard but it is great that Chris went that bit further to accomodate you, great customer service indeed.

I agree, it does look a bit thick... but it is very cool that Chris went and addressed the concerns a customer had, went out of his way to try and make that customer happy. I like to see that.

That is in fact amazing customer service, but I agree that the scabbard isn't to my liking. I do like the type of wood and the finish though, it's a great color and pattern.

Wow, that scabbard really is square... Some sandpaper (perhaps on a wheel) to the corners ought to fix it, though, but you'll be needing to re-finish it afterwards.
The rest of it, though, is really nice. It's definitely great that he did that for you, too. Most folks would just tell you "tough, get used to it" and get on with their lives. Good for him.

I think as he makes more, his skill in making scabbards will show. For right now, it'll definitely do the job of holding the sword in place.
I've been staring at that Eastern Warlord sword they've got...the scabbard is very blocky.
