Your best bet would be to email cold steel but i really like the first set of pictures. The gold with the blackened backround looks better than just the plain gold fittings IMHO.

Both are pretty purdy. Emailing Cold Steel sounds like a pretty good. I ordered one back last november, and I had the carp styled fittings on it. Carp styled meaning the ones on Cold Steel's site, right? I'm just doublechecking, and thanks for the input.

I was expecting the flowery themed ones from pauls review, and got the carp ones... not that I mind, the fittings are quite ornate. I ordered mine from KoA if you're wondering where I got them.

Just so you know, the furniture on the scabbard is not very well secured. I recommend some glue.
They are loosely fitted to the scabbard and only connected via a pair of thin tacks each. With handling, these tacks will loosen and come out, or break off. Just had 1 come out and 1 break this past week.
That's really the only bad thing I have to say about the CS Gim.

Would it be best to use wood glue to put them back on, or white glue, or super glue, or epoxy? I'll be ordering one in a few days and I'd like to know how best to repair such a thing if it happened.

Tacky Glue works. Brass to wood.
Wood Glue won't adhere to the brass properly White glue won't adhere to either. Super Glue... Well, I don't know how it reacts with brass, but won't hold to wood for long.
Most epoxies WILL secure the pieces quite effectively. But you better be a wiz with them or you'll have an UGLY mess.
Tacky Glue will secure them, will not react badly, and is easy to clean up any mess. You can also stain it to match the wood or paint it to match the brass.
