. I took as a lesson learned and never again will buy swords from ebay! Stay away from Swords on ebay in general specially Ryan swords! Take care, Joao if it was because of import restrictions your custom didn't let your sword pass trough it´s obvious that it would be unwise to buy more from another country just to have it sent back. I agree that it was not good that you were promised a refund and did´nt got any. But was´nt it possible to mail the seller just because the item was no longer listed? I must say the usual is that the buyers have responsibility to check what is allowed to import to the own country or not. The person who import. I don´t know anything about ryan sword, I have´nt had any sword from them. but I think, from at least a little experience that the principle are the same werever you buy, ebay or anywhere else; avoid the bad ones. It is always a certain risk to import things, ebay or not. If I buy from the U.S the shipping would cost me more than some swords if I had to send it back or to much to be worth the cost anyway, about the same as if I imported from east. So customer service does´nt always solve the problem. Quality control could, but unfortunately I´m not sure QC are always so much better on other places than ebay.

well then, by all means, buy from Ryan swords...it can chop iron you know. not sure bout clearing customs tho.. If that was directed at me, I already have a Ryansword wakizashi I'm perfectly happy with. The second sword I bought on Ebay. Can't chop iron unfortunately, but then again that's an Ebay term for a non-sharpened sword. Chops a lot of other things though. But I won't recommend them any longer as I'm more knowledgeable now.

LOL @ can chop iron
JP Sword anyone?
Sorry to hear about this Marc...but at least you have some correspondence with the seller in question; even if he could be pretending the whole 'other partner' biz just to throw the scent off himself for poor stewardship of his 'company'.
All's well that ends well, tho.

first,, for that answer about stay away from swords in general, no way man, no way man, no way man
secondly, for the chop iron thing, as said,, people that do not know swords, when they see those video think that those swords are undestructible.
third of all, that importation thing have nothing to do with all that, as explained to him, it have been sold to me as can chop anything, and it is his fault, so i won't pay anything and want it all, till there i am allowed to sing cry screem to everyone that i am not happy with my purchse with him and say that i haven't been refund for false representation.
forth,, ichiban, you have a Ryan sword and are happy with it, fine, but as i said, with some sellers, it is playing with a quarter when we buy from them. if they sell SLO and real swords, it maybe depend of the amount it ends on betting, but it maybe depend too of the quality of the seller. if i ask for a real sword and you tell me as a seller, it is a real and trustable sword, as a customer i am suppose to have what is promised. so, maybe some of their swords are good, but all 4 that i had, are cheap very cheap and are suppose to be very very solid.
ebon paladin, i have some comunication with the seller , because he had a conversation with a customer of his and the seller saw my video, this is the only reason, why he, now, communicate with me, and try to fix this. but,if he is the boss, all he would have had to do is,click the refund now button,it is really easy i did it a couple of times it take 15 seconds., but no, he offered me to wait one week. and i am sure i klnow why, to see if he will get some more feed back of it. and if not, i will never hear from them again lol.
will wait a couple more days and contact him again and see what he have to say, and as said, if i ever ever get (all money back without a cost from my side) all i will be able to say is, i wasn't happy with it and they refund.
as counted with the 4 swords it has cost me 643.00 AU
i bought a lot on ebay, and have been screwed three times, some (nice beautifull lamps that look gorgeous on the pic) and are very ugly in natural and a statue that arrived all messed up with screws on it and the seller claimed that he didn't do anything and that maybe canada post had fixed it with screws before bring it to me lol.
have been refund the two times the third have to be, if not, i have the right to complain and to say everyone to stay away.
but all that brought me to SBG and i became a seller because of that and since then,i am proud of what i buy now lol. have 23 in the livingroom and 19 of them are real lol

I am curious, how come Ryansword and some other you know what gets so many positive feedback? Is true that some sellers could remove negative feedback from ebay? We should coin a new term: " Chop Iron Sword" = crappy functional sword Edit:Come and think of it, that could be quite a dangerous and misleading term. As much as I hate it, there are some people out there who genuinely believe that some sword can chop iron.

I am curious, how come Ryansword and some other you know what gets so many positive feedback? Is true that some sellers could remove negative feedback from ebay? I think this happens because most of the people that buy swords from these Ebay sellers don't know much about swords. Back before I discovered SBG I had a LOT of misconceptions about what makes a good sword, and I had a few really crappy ones. The majority of the buying public is very ignorant about what makes a good/bad sword. A lot of that feedback was probably left right after the buyers got their new sword, looked at it, thought it looked cool and were super excited about getting their sword. I highly doubt many of them took the sword apart an inspected it, or would even know how.

As much as I hate it, there are some people out there who genuinely believe that some sword can chop iron. it is simple,, why, here is the reason. i did the same thing , as soon as i received these, they were my first,(as said), real katana. i've put a 5 star and was very happy. till i find SBG to know about swords and handeling swords, i was sure that they were real and that if i touch the blade it could be a disaster. so they were hanging on the wall and everyone that would come to my house look at them and say WOW. so i explain them that it can chop iron and blah bl;ah and show them the video. this is why they get so many 5 stars. but, once people find out, they change the seller's name so it start back with only positive feed backs. this is why you do not find anynmore sword sold by ryansword on ebay and that they sell under a couple of other names lol marc

Touché. When I first bought a sword, I did instinctively went onto Amazon.com and almost bought a katana from handmadesword. Luckily I stumble upon SBG quick enough to cancel my order from Amazon with little penalty. A close one. Internet, you're scary man

Besides, it WAS Alum wire he was chopping, so it would have made a real Sh%$ty sword anyway,
My point was the two hands that draw each other, So he was chopping the Iron wire to make the sword so he could chop the wire...............Adnuseum.

I've mentioned this before but it bears repeating. The reason many eBayer's have such good feedback is that they blatantly extort positive feedback from buyers. They say something like: "I'll give you positive feedback as soon as you give me mine". If you leave them negative feedback they will do the same for you. Since a buyer usually has less feedback than a seller it looks much worse on your record, and sellers won't want to do business with you. This works and apparently is not illegal so it's become common practice.

They say something like: "I'll give you positive feedback as soon as you give me mine". If you leave them negative feedback they will do the same for you. Since a buyer usually has less feedback than a seller it looks much worse on your record, and sellers won't want to do business with you. This works and apparently is not illegal so it's become common practice. this is another great reason man lol. i've received another emails from him this morning, saying,, didn't you read all what was on the page ,,bla bla, i answered yes. also about the price i paid for these and bla bla too. you know, as usuall, playing words. you will be able to read it all but i explain the context here before pasting it. i (won those swords on bidding) and was ready to bid till i win them. and they were advertising real swords, they were advertising can chop iron, they werte advertising that i can do all that is on video. so it was false publicity. at that time, as explained to him, i diodn't know a lot about swords and beleived in all what they told me in emails and in PMs on ebay. so this is why i am not happy with these purchase. if you remember all guys, i bought a Hero nakamura sword, knowing that it was a SLO but i didn't care because i wanted it on my wall, so, i like to know what i am buying is what is said.that's it. here is the email fromThis morning. just hope that everyone have read carefully what i've wrote and what i am talking about since a year and understand the context. it have cost me shipping included 678.00 US and , since it was false representation, i expect the fiull amount. and he answer me for three swords but i won another one at .88 cents,, i don't mind about the .88 cents i mind about the 69.00 it cost me to have it,, since it was a can chop iron and do not chop anything lol. and another thing in another emaiul i sent before purchasing, i asked them, if i sharpen them will it damage the blade? and i had as an answer: you could do it but, it woiuld be preferable for a professional to do it, if not, you could damage the blade. so,, since i have been a butcher so many years, i said to myself that, i can sharpen them. but, they do not keep the sharpening, not because it is me that sharpened them but,, because the steel isn't enough strong to keep the sharpening. For these 3 swords above, I believe you must had read through the product description carefully, right?
You mentioned that the sword is not sharp and must sharpen it up everytime you used it, can you tell me which sword are you referring to? or are you referring to all swords above?
If the sword you mentioned was the AUD$29.99, then of course it cannot cut through the bottle…. as this is an unsharpened sword as described … and only unsharpened sword can cut iron and not a sharp sword…….. This is a general knowledge for most who know about sword.
As for the other two swords, I believe there should be no problem for bottle cutting …. To cut a bottle, you must use the the 1/3 part front of the blade … as this part are more sharp…. This is the concept of these kind of battle sword, the ancient Japanese forging method in this way which are sword for battle and defence use.….. ….is the front 1/3 of the blade are sharpest….. I hope you can understand….
Well, We also found out that your purchase name iwith us is also “wiwingti sword supply” last year… but why you said you know little about sword at that time? You must be a humble man J Our swords are very good but there must also some care and skills we need to apply in order to maximize the perfomance of the sword.
My staff who incharged for your purchase had left Ryansword long time ago last year… Hence, I wouldn’t able to know how he introduced these swords to you…. I was not told about your problem before this until I read about you in the forums. I know there are no excuse on this, and as the the leader, I must responsible and, I am deeply sorry for what had happened to you before this and we (Ryansword) apology to you.
What I want to do the most for now is to solve problems, and hope you can input us about your dissastifactions for these 3 swords in more details…. We need more input about your comment.
