I'm trying to figure out what current City Sticks are stocked as. Sometimes companies use old images of products that have changed a bit. To be honest, a black textured shaft would be ideal, but I don't think I'm that lucky.

That first one IS black. I know CS products pretty decently, and they have never made a city stick with a blue shaft as far as I know. It appears to be a simple alteration caused by the camera. Think about it, the 'blue' appearance is really just what happens when there's that much contrast between the part reflecting light and the part that's not. Of course, there's also the simple fact that trueswords.com specifically says Point and case, my friend. ;D I hope this helps! -Slayer

They were textured black or smooth black?

They were textured black or smooth black? No problem, man. And thanks for the karma! From what I can tell (I did a bit of research, since I didn't know off the top of my head), the shaft is smooth. If you look at the pictures on Cold Steels website, they appear to be. www.coldsteel.com/citystick.htmlOf course, you could always find out for sure by emailing Cold Steel themselves. I've had best luck with a quick response by emailing one of the top dogs in CS, Tyler, directly. His email is, as you'd expect, Tyler.@.ColdSteel.com (Take out the periods on either side of the @ sign, though. I simply added those to save him some junk mail. You know how there are programs that trawl the web looking for email address posted on forums and such... By the way, you don't necessarily HAVE to order through Trueswords, you know. If you want the Stainless Steel head Version instead, just try one of these options: A. Buy from another site, such as www.SwordsofMight.com, www.KultofAthena.com, or www.WiwingtiSwordsupply.com (I recommend all of them, but see who can get you the best price). B.Call/email Trueswords.com to see if they can still get you the kind of city stick you'd like. Remember, just because it's not on their site, doesn't mean that they can't get it. C. Buy the pistol grip version from Trueswords.com, then order a replacement Stainless head from CS directly. They sell replacement parts, and the heads are both removable and exchangeable. Though this option may cost a bit more, you WOULD end up with both heads. ;D Anyway, let us know how you end up. I'd actually love to see a review of that simple, and yet so potent, weapon. -Slayer Stupid spelling errors... Why I don't always use spell check, I'll never know. ;D

Unfortunately, the only respected retailers online for a City Stick are eblades and Trueswords, and eblades charges $80. Thanks for all the help, though. I may just end up getting the pistol grip, though it somehow manages to be 10 oz's heavier.

Like I said, they may not have city sticks on their website, but I guarantee that KoA and SoM CAN and WILL get them for you if you ask. Not to mention Wiwingti, of course. Besides, 99% of all these reputable dealers have price-match guarantees, so if you email them with a link to a better price than theirs, they'll match the better price. Just curiously, why do you say that only respected retailers online for a City Stick are eblades and Trueswords? I could think of at least a few others... From what I've heard, the pistol grip is designed specifically for those interested in fencing (as in, epee, rapier, etc) . It gives more control for that style of fighting. What about options B and C, though, if you still want to get it through Trueswords.com exclusively? -Slayer

I did send Trueswords an email, and eagerly awaiting a response. As for getting new heads, I did consider it, though I'd personally like to forego the pistol grip. ;D

Ah, now I understand. Sorry, my bad. ;D I've emailed KoA about a CS knife in the past, and they told me that since they are primarily a medieval weapons vendor, they don't stock modern CS items. HOWEVER, they also said that they could still get any of CS's items for me and would still beat any other price I could find. So, if TrueSwords doesn't work out, try giving them a quick email. Who knows? It's worth a try. -Slayer
