That James Purefoy is gonna play the titular character is enough to make want to see this movie.

Whoa, James Purefoy? He was most excellent as Marc Antony in HBO's "Rome". I don't know who this Soloman Kane is but now I'm interested.

...I don't know who this Soloman Kane is but now I'm interested. Hey Rick, check out some Solomon Kane stories by going to gutenberg.net.au/searchresults.html and searching for "Solomon Kane" to get a good list of Robert E. Howard's Kane stories. Rattle of Bones Skulls in the Stars The Footfalls Within The Hills of the Dead The Moon of SkullsThese are all good stories, especially if you like morality tales involving rapiers and flintlock pistols.

They are in a rough sequence. But I can't remember the order. Maybe someone who's more familiar with the Kane stories could say?...

I don't know if it matters. The stories are not tied together tightly. Even for those trying to figure out the chronology have trouble. The Del Rey edition is in the order in which they were writtem, I believe.
Here's one of many attempted chronlogies: I. Skulls in the Stars II. The Right Hand of Doom III. Red Shadows IV. Rattle of Bones V. The Castle of the Devil VI. The Moon of Skulls VII. The One Black Stain VIII. Blades of the Brotherhood IX. The Hills of the Dead X. Hawk of Basti XI. The Return of Sir Richard Greenville XII. Wings in the Night XIII. The Footfalls Within XIV. The Children of Asshur XV. Solomon Kane's Homecoming
(I just thought it was cool that a Hollywood production had caught on to test-cutting!)
