www.viking-shield.com/ Then click on whats new and check out the second one down. Salamander Armoury pattern-welded langsax by Dr. Jim Hrisoulas Ok so it's more than the $300.00 we talk about on this forum. This langsax is unbelievable,it has something i have wanted in a sword/knife for a long long time,METEORIC IRON.I want a sword made with iron thats not from this planet and besides it's one of the most beautiful/wicked sword/knife/langsax I have ever seen.A bit of cash but if I could afford it i would get it.I wonder how much they pay for blood donations?

Sanmarc I'm glad to see you use the word ART for this piece it's one of the reasons I collect and this is art.As for it being historical I'm not concerned about that but sometimes, probably like the rest of you a piece hits you hard and you have to have it.For me this Langsax is one of the best pieces I have ever seen and the metorite iron really seals it for me.If their was a way to afford it I would in a second.

I love multiple fullers and I love pattern welding. This piece of art has it all. Usually I'm a historical accuracy freak. This time I just don't care. ;D

The norse are well known for decorating their weapons and making them into art, deadly art but art none the less. I won't disagree this is a beautiful artwork but it isn't my taste.

When I was a kid their was a movie and the monster/demon could only be killed by a knife/sword that was made with iron not of this world. In other words made with meteoric iron, since then I always wanted a weapon made with metor iron, plus this sax looks wicked, mean, nasty and beautiful.

I really dont remember much about the movie,i saw it once on TV in the mid 70's and it was an old sifi B&W movie.I wish i could remember what it was.Still I want the sax bad,but cash is extremly short lately,if anyone wants to buy it and hide it from their wife at my house it would be OK.

I'd donate my penny collection to your cause, Buliwyf. If only I HAD a penny collection... ;D Good luck gathering the funds to get it, man. Luckily for me, my goals are a bit cheaper... Personally, it's not to my taste, but I can see how it might appeal to others. Then again, I've never really liked longsax/langsax/scamasax/etc with the obvious exception of Brenno's renditions of them. I don't know, just not my style. That langsax you linked to is obviously well made. -Slayer

I get all quivery over a sax, its one of those weapons that seems to always take on a different look/angle and seems to be popular and yet the major players (Windlass, Hanwei, VA, CS etc etc) either never do one or when they do it just isnt in good taste or historical correctness (maybe save windlass's dark age sax with those brass tacks on the handle). Ironic considering its a fairly simple blade to make.
