Having realized I own more swords than I have wall space for, I need a floor stand too. KoA lists an 8 sword stand that looks good but it's on backorder. and the 16 sword stand is fugly. Anybody got any suggestions or ideas? How 'bout plans, patterns, or measured drawings?
I have tools, and I'm not afraid to use them.
Thanks, Kenneth

Here are my solutions for display in racks so far. This one is the Rubbermaid long pole tool organizer. It also comes in a smaller triagular corner option. Painted with black stove paint and it will hold twice more than shown here. Some slots are quite large enough for scabbarded medieval types. I love it because it weighs next to nothing and breaks down easily for traveling. About a month ago and gearing up for this next fall's public exposition, I browsed around looking for these two in particular. They are a dense partical wood business and the cane type stand needs work to make it sturdy. The threads in the shaft pull right out. So, I shot it dead with sheet rock screws to stabilize it. The other floor/table rack holds eight and is sturdier but I am going to update it with better screws as well. The seller www.wildbillwholesale.com/ind.htmlHad the best prices on them and came packed very well travelled and quickly from Florida to the Nipmuc here in New England. The cane stand is terrific for my assortment of spadroons and the other rack I will use at the event for sabres and other period swords. I had spent some time looking at the fan type and there have been a few versions of those. The type of swords you look to display may make for some condsiderations for your collection. I had also looked at some other solutions for compact and upright. The lazy susan upright rifle stands looked awesome for my needs but I am a lazy sot to be making one from the patterns and were pricy complete. With some lumber, a scroll saw or bandsaw and some screws. All would be needed is a finish and a plan. Many of my swords are just hanging by a piece of cord or ribbon hung on a screw. Others even quite akward just perch on screws. I have been using the cane stand for a rapier, a skinny sabre, a dagger and four of the five spadroons. Cheers Hotspur; I missed someone selling one of the older MRL fan displays and the Art Gladius fan display is quite pricy

That Rubbermaid one's kinda cool...that looks to be the most cost effective multiple-sword stand I've yet seen.
