Hey guys,
I am just wondering if there are any gen2 suppliers in australia? I was looking at cutting edge cutlery but with the way their site is it makes me a little cautious about ordering from them. I don't suppose there are any gen2 suppliers in South Australia by any chance?

I have noticed that Australians tend to get ripped off on swords, bow, armor and other related equipment. It would be good if Gen 2 did open up a supply center downunder. I believe that Gen 2 has their founderies in the Philapines, it would make sense to ship straight there.

Tsafa: i believe they do to, the only issue with ordering in from outside the country is if I can get it through customs, that would be my biggest worry in getting a gen2 mailed from over seas. The other issue is that i can only get swords under 42" mailed as well which could be problematic if i wanted, say, a claymore.

Have you tried contacting Paul? I'm sure he can give you full details on the best way to proceed.

I have ordered via Tony at Cutting Edge and have found his service and communication to be excellent. Just email him for quotes on anything you want. Pricing via cutting edge was better than via any overseas suppliers I contacted.

Regarding labelling for customs - One US retailer I contacted say they ship to Australia frequently marking their swords as "Decorative Cuttlery" with no worries.

When Tony started buying from us (and this was before Paul started his site) it was told to him that he would be the Aus. Distributor. Also Paul Southren can not go back on his word to Jason at Arms of Valor. Both Paul and I discussed it before but the arrangement we both have and our convictions will not allow us to do so. I know he would do a great job in promoting and selling them there.

If arms of valor are stocking your product Clyde then why is it a conflict of interest if Paul stocks your products through his ties with arms of valor? I am not trying to cause problems i am just curious? Because unless i am wrong arms of valor stock a whole range of different weaponry from different companies, do they make their own weapons as well that Paul stocks?

It is an arrangement Jason and Paul made sometime ago. The discount. I can not go into it for that is between them and it is up to them to explain it. But also the arrangement I made with Tony is also still binding.

I wish cutting edge would fix their website or just offer a pricelist for all their swords. I have yet to even get a reply requesting prices or some things. From the looks or their range they could be about the most useful supplier for people in oz if they would get their act in gear.

theres no need to tread carefully bring in swords, they arent a controlled item. Its just the mail systems length limits and if the package is valued at over $1000Aus (INCLUDING postage) you will pay gst and customs fees. I have to say the new Cutting Edge site is a shambles, the old one was easy to navigate and was neat and tidy, the new owners version is nothing short of terrible, with images and text overlapping and the way he has divided the catagories is woefull. Lets hope his service is better than his graphics

He needs to know this feedback. Tony is a real good guy and he may not know the problems you are having on his website.

... or just offer a pricelist for all their swords. I have yet to even get a reply requesting prices or some things. This isn't an uncommon practice in Australia because of the variable exchange rate, because alot don't keep a stack of stock in at any one time they'll order in your blade when you order it and work out the price on the exchange rate at the time. I think its better for the customer $$ wise because listed prices would have to include some leeway depending what the AUD does...
