I had to share this with you all The flex in this wall hanger is scary and as most people as you know have no idea what a real sword is made of this thing is an accident just waiting to happen. Oh and spot the Tang or lack of. At least the guy in the video says that it is "something you would not use". And to think a few years ago I was looking at this sword. hmmm boy have I learnt a fair bit since then. Anyway I will leave it up to you guys to say what you think. Peace

It's scary that these can be sold without some sort of safeguarding against it being handled ( like a sword ). Toy guns have orange endcaps now ( at least in Canada ) so they are immediately identified as a toy. There should be something about these swords that makes it impossible for someone to think they could use it, swing it, cut with it or whatever. Someone is going to get hurt buying one of these. The ultimate wallhanger.

When I got my first SLO/Wallhanger, I was in the fourth grade. I didn't know anything about swords, and automatically assumed that anything in magazines that was labeled as a sword was a real sword. So I saved up my money and bought a $50 katana from a magazine. When I got it I took it outside and swung it around, and actually cut a rope that I had hanging from a tree. I still can't believe that it didn't break, but I got lucky I suppose. A few weeks ago I took it outside and carefully swung it some, just to see what it felt like. I wonder how many other kids think that these wallhangers are real swords. It makes me mad that those SLO are sold without any label or warning. Someone could easily get hurt.

Wow hold me I'm frightened,I own a few SLO copies but never one that the blade actually bends downward when you just pick it up. I wasnt going to watch much of the video but I had to see the tang,it is to thin to even call it a rat tail.Thank God he says it's ment to be put up on a wall but paying fifty bucks for it is rediculas.
Sorry but it just scares me things like that are even made, you know someone is going to pull it off the wall one day and take a swing just to feel like William Wallace and that blade is going for a ride and hopefull not into anybody.

I have to agree with you all on this that there has to be something done so people understand what they are getting is an ornament. Some sort of disclaimer should be put up with the ads for these swords and put on the packaging when people receive them I guess. I never saw anything like that on the packaging for the SLO I have. Yes I have to admit I have two SLO in my collection but I am fully aware of what they are and that on the wall they must stay. Both of the SLO I have were gifts so I have to hang them up anyway, and I am educating my friends slowly about what a sword is or is not.. They think I am a little nuts but I guess they realise that it is not a good idea to hassle someone who collects sharp objects as a hobby. ;D Anyway I just found that particular sword kind of frightening as I guess it is indicative of that line of replica and you will get people swinging it just for fun or trying to cut with it. I shudder to think what will happen if that thing was used. I guess it will snap but which part will go first? I think it will be the Rat tail tang but with that much flex it could be a close contest. Peace David

Wow, but he got a great deal I guess as long as it's hanging and you can't see the flex it will ..... um..... look .....er.....good. Na probably not. I'm glad I found SBG when I bought my first sword. It saved me from really screwing up.

I always wanted the samurai 3000 katana before cause it looked awesome I never ended up buying walla hangers cause they werent sharp (the ones I saw) and so i figured a "battle ready" sword would have to be sharp then one day a guy set up a sword store in my town he sells aircraft aluminum training swords and I talked to him one day forever (cause I love swords SO FREAKIN MUCH ( which I suppose all of you understand)) yeah he explained the magicks of a full tang and the like and so then i was ready to buy a sword but had no money eventually when i had money i discovered reliks which is 45 minutes from me and I looked at all of their functional swords till i found one in my price range that i liked the Hanwei Ninjato anyways thats my story how I avoided wall hangers by shear luck
