Heya, I know its somewhat outside our sub 300 ethos but quite a few guys on the forum are owners of Albions, how many of you would be up for reviewing them as an insight to your views on owning a prestige range blade and why is it worth the money

Hmm perhaps we should ask Pauls leave, afore we post a bunch of high dollar sword reviews.

In that case, Ricwilly, you are the VIP reviewer.

Hmm perhaps we should ask Pauls leave, afore we post a bunch of high dollar sword reviews. I dont think thats necessary. Sure , they wont get moved to the main page... but nothing wrong with them here on the forum... Ive written 21 reviews... and I think 4 were sub $300... Even Daniel recently reviwed a Golden Oriele and Mike has done Atrim reviews... I say review away...

I'll throw a few reviews up in the standard format.
As far as prices go, a used Albion in excellent condition will cost you about what a VA Signature cost you now - and in some cases, I have seen them go for less. The market is really good right now for picking up an Albion, ATrim, or A&A for around the same price as two Windlass Steelcrafts swords.

I think it would be a good thing to review some of these swords. Having just started collecting swords myself, with none of them going over $300, I'd be very interested in the reviews. And since this is really the only message board I go to I'm counting on you guys and gals to educate me Are Albions really worth so much more??? Is it worth saving a little longer for one??? I just don't know since I have no experience with them. I like my swords so far and would love to have a lot of swords. Heck I've got me my wife and 5 kids to arm. But is it smarter to go for quality over quantity? So please if you can do the reviews, I will definitely appreciate it.

He he yeah, my son is 2 1/2 and I think he already wants to be my spearboy ......... Even though an Albion can be had for a good price now 2nd hand its just that ........... someone had to reach down deep and take the plunge on a pristine, new ......... piece of ULTIMATE GLORY!!! .......................... ahem ................. to say it begs what entices a person to buy it new .......... and alot of forumites have done so ............

Review away - I want to know what all the flippin' fuss is about over Albions anyway. And do they make a decent falchion?

Review away - I want to know what all the flippin' fuss is about over Albions anyway. And do they make a decent falchion? The Albion falchion is called the Vassal. I am a huge falchion fan, but the Vassal is a bit to expensive for my liking. I'd actually prefer to have the ATrim Courtrai falchion myself. ;D

To be honest, since I have not started studying Euro sword yet, I've been wondering with types would lend themselves well to the Chinese sword techniques I use. The Falchion and Dao seem to be quite comparable to each other. Though I'm still not certain what Oakeshott type would correspond the most closely to a Jian.

Here is one of mine:
/index.cgi?board=swordreviews&action=display&thread=11088
I'd do a couple more, but my other Albions are committed to published reviews I did for another website. I'll link those review back here once they are published. ;D
