Hi guys. In the next week or so I'm going to start WMA training and I was wondering whether anyone knows of anywhere that sells sword carrying bags? Clearly I won't be needing it strait away but I'd appreciate someone pointing me in the right direction. Cheers.

My Bujin Design bag came yesterday! I am very happy with it so far. I bought it because they were recomended highly by experienced members here and at my school, and they seem to last forever. I am sorry that my camera is out of town, but if you are interested I will post pics when it comes home.

Be you a kiwi by any chance? Yup it stings alot. At least the SBG store has a blanket fee for overseas shipping so it's easy to accomodate for (as my VA/Atrim Arming sword can attest ;D).

Thank you for the welcome and I have found the people here really nice so far. One question I have is where do you get your swords here in NZ if you do get them local? I have found a few places but the price is kind of high with most of them.

www.wargod.co.nz/ and www.superiorsteel.co.nz/ I've bought one sword from each and the service was stunning. I also bought an Atrim/VA practical arming sword from the SBG store not long ago and even with shipping the price was very reasonable for the quality i.e. top notch (the price was so low i didn't even have to pay customs tax ;D). This is getting a wee bit off topic so PM me if you have any more questions

Oh sorry, I didn't see you were in New Zealand at first.
I have a friend who uses a lacrosse gear bag for his stuff...I couldn't find one at my local sporting goods store, but the hockey bags were an option. You might check your local sporting goods store to see if they have anything that fits all your stuff, and since you are just starting you might want to find out how much "stuff" you eventually may collect...and plan ahead so you only have to buy one bag (I also have a cheap duffel bag that has served me well for quite a while, but the straps broke soon after I got it).

I've known some martial artists who use military duffel bags from the Army-Navy surplus as sword bags, and for all the required safety gear, so that might be another option.

A soft or hard rifle or shorgun case works. Pelican makes all size and shape of durable and waterproof cases.

Hehe yea gun case/bag would work well. I have one of the shinai bags from www.ninecircles.co.uk/It was a bit pricey after the exchage rate when I got it, but it's been holding up great and I got some embroidery done on it. Kind of funny, I was taking a coworker to lunch, and he saw it in my car. Being a big hunter/outdoorsman he says "oh wow you left your rifle in the car like that?" I had to chuckle and tell him it wasn't a rifle at which point he then insisted on seeing what was inside. A couple bokken and waxwood staff.
