I have had a JW wakizashi for a year now and beleive I want to get rid of it to help pay for new acquisitions and other projects. So, how much do you guys think its worth at this point? It still is in good condition, never cut with, has all original parts. The only problem is the portion of the saya that juts out and is tied with cordage seems to have popped off at some point. Besides that, there is no damage whatsoever, it has a san mai blade, differentialy hardened. Any ballpark estimates?

Post a few pics if you can, give some more detailed specs (measurements and what not) and we'll let you know what we'd pay for it. That's about all we can do. A little glue should fix the whatsit thing, too.

Joe Walters mebbe.
Typically, newly made swords are worth no more than what one paid for originally. A true shirasaya meant only for storage wouldn't hurt its value much if no longer perfect. I probably have everything wrong.

The sticky out thingy is the kurikata used to secure the sageo to the saya, wood glue should fix it again.
