If you want a semi-attractive blade that you don't mind beating the hell out of, get the cheness. They look fine, have decent quality, some occasional QC issues but if you're checking it out in hand that shouldn't be a problem.
Lastly they can take a ton of abuse as paul has shown in his reviews and from the pain I put mine through. I'm sure slayerofdarkness could attest to how beat to hell mine was.

True , Well i use kultofathena for all my orders , their pricing is really good , in fact most of the times they are well below the competitors . Plus there shipping and communication is great ! I usually order with them once a month , i place my order and it ships out the next day . The other useful thing about their site is that you can actually see what is in stock and they have it with them so no long waiting periods . Their communication is also top notch with Ryan more than willing to answer my numerous questions, normally on the same day as well, even with the time difference ! What I really like though is I usually order 3 swords or katana at a time , this fits into one of their 42 inch shipping boxes , they inspect the goods before hand and then package themselves . On ave I would pay around $90 shipping for a box with 3 katana in !So $30 per katana for international shipping to South Africa ! Not bad !The only thing is you dont get the original boxes they come in , but heck i save a bundle and afterall its the katana im after , not the boxes they come in . Ah... well, KoA is no secret, they have been around quite awhile and are much beloved buy the sword buying community. As a side note, I've sold/traded with a couple people overseas... and getting Katana into a 42 in long box IS a pain in the ass, as you mention. Most stock boxes will not work, you have to do some creative packaging to make it fit.

Yeah i know what you mean ,hence Im very happy with KOA as they go that extra mile and understand the difficulties and costs involved in using a courier for anything over 42".Plus they always package very well and there paper work (customs) is top notch as I have no delays with it going through Customs this side . You will be surprised at the amount of vendors out there who offer international shipping ,yet fill out the paper work incorrectly ,resulting in frustrating delays at customs .
