By Wigi´s great request...here´s part 4. He has a disclaimer that says to never ever do it...then promptly tells you to go for it...umm yeah. And this time he not only endangers a person, he risks a camera to boot.

That vid was uploaded June 21, 2008. Well before the incident indicated in the first thread. Goes to prove that he will never learn and only wants to feed his own giant ego. Sad really. And ya, it looks like he blocked the embed too.

This guy challenges his "students" to "block" the strike before it hits the cucumber. Sadly while to the untrained eye this is impressive - to anyone with some semblance of real training its easily blocked. Taking a chudan kamae puts your sword exactly in position to block/parry that sort of cut. Not much movement would be needed on the viewer's part to negate the cut and take his arm... then his stomach or neck thereafter.
Anyway I also find it appalling that he uses a person to hold the cucumber for his cutting vids. Luckily most of his "students" are either too lazy or just too incompetent to do anything from his videos that could actually endanger themselves or others. There are those I'm sure though, who have just enough gumption to get up and try the crap he spews from his mouth and try it with other people, that will and do prove to be a danger to themselves (not necessarily a bad thing) and to others (definitely a bad thing.)
One can only hope that in time people such as Greg Parks and his more dangerous "students" will remove themselves from the gene pool without making too many waves in general society.

What is really funny about this video is the position from which he cuts. Not only is it a telegraphed strike and easily blockable, but even moderatelyskilled swordsman would cut him down before he had a chance to strike.
From the shoulder postion like that he can only strike from one angle... only one fencing lane... so the attack is easily read and blocked... but whats more he has exposed himself completely to attack and has left himself almost no option to defend against attack.
There is not a hint of swordsmanship in this display.

Yeah, I would be much more worried about someone who takes a plow or "Holding the moon" type of guard (Sorry, don't know the Japanese term for that guard but it seems to be pretty universal) prior to a cut. Some one who takes their sword up to the shoulder like that is asking for a thrust to the stomach.

Maybe he's really the best ninja ever and is pretending to be an idiot to lure us all into a false sense of dealing with an idiot.
Or perhaps the biggest and best troll the internet's ever seen.
