So I finally got around to cutting with it (Sorry, no pics). Me and a few pals took some sharp weapons to cut down some saplings. Some reaching higher than 20 feet with a radius of even 4-5 inches. We were given the job to remove these saplings as they were doing something there, dont remember. I was too stoked. We took:
Windlass Giant Kurki
Masahiro Kill Bill Katana
Some Wall Hanger (Not mine)
My Machete I re-hilted.
This was one hell of a test to the durability of these weapons. Now here is my test results:
Kukri: This thing cut like crazy! I took out a 5 inch thick sapling with ease! I did not even feel it contact! It was scary how well this thing cut! But thanks to a friends poor form (Hit it horizontally) he bent the edge. It is also partially my fault for getting it so sharp. but it is an easy fix anyway, and for the 120$ I paid, great deal!
Masahiro: This thing is a fantastic sword, I got to say. I would classify it as a beater! We chopped wood blocks with it and such, naturally, saplings were a breeze! the POB is roughly 4-5 inches from the guard, so it feels light as a feather in hand. It did not have the chopping power of my Kukri, but with correct form, it almost cut just as good.
Wallhanger: Bent on anything thicker than 2 inches. Otherwise cut things easily.
Machete: It cut things under 4 inches easily. Anything thicker, the flex would cause it to flop. Excellent temper on it though, as it refused to bend.
Not much, but just a small review. Maybe those interested in the Masahiro or Windlass Kukri, I will say... Fantastic blades. Don't hesitate to buy them.
I will test my unnamed Katana some time in the future when I can rehilt it.
