Hey all, Just wanted to let you know about a new feature I added to the forum. As it can sometimes be hard for the mods and myself to catch an inappropriate post or one that is clearly a violation of the SBG forum rules, I decided to add a 'flag' feature so that you can bring this kind of thing to my direct attention. Naturally, being as busy as I am, it is important to use it sparingly and I won't take too kindly to people who abuse it if you know what I mean, so be pretty sure that it really is a flaggable post before using it. Hopefully we won't need to use it too much!! On a much more positive note, you may well have noticed that there are a few members who are designated as 'VIP Reviewers' now (which is basically all the Review Team guys and the shortlist members). You'll find a sub board above where all the reviews normally are with a special VIP lounge that only VIP reviewers, staff and manufacturers and vendors can access - but if you aren't already one and want to know what is going on in there, you're gonna have to get to 100 review points to find out.. ;D Cheers, - Paul

Just a thought but a green flag would show as a lot more positive than a red one.
Cheers
Hotspur; there's nothing wrong with accolade or flags but some attentions are more softly attracted than harsher colors

Sounds a sensible way of allowing uses to become involved in keeping this board going tin the right direction
I’m probably missing something but how would one go about flagging inappropriate posts. I can’t see any obvious button, ?

Oh, the button is up next and to the right to the 'quote' section at the top of each post. If someone flags it, the post becomes unreadable until it is looked at by admin.
As I said, I hope (and don't think) that it will be used an awful lot. But it is there more or less like the emergency stop function on a train if you know what I mean (and we all know how some posts can rapidly get derailed every now and again!).
Cheers,
- Paul

I've looked for the Flag button using both Firefox and Internet Explorer (latest version of each) and I do not see it anywhere.

You could always promote more mods if you guys are under a heavy workload, I can think of a number of people that could be great mods. So the flag button is essentially removing the persons post until you look at it, perhaps you should make mods able to look at it as well? I can definitely see the flag button causing some trouble.
And yes, I can't see the flag button either, as vedearduff said, I'm on firefox.

Hmm, this is weird - and apparently it is causing some technical issues for some of the mods too... I'm trying to fix it up, but bear in mind that if logging out and back in doesn't work, I'll get rid of it as it isn't a critical feature - but if it is causing technical issues and not everyone has access to it, then it's time to wave the flag goodbye...

And here I was going to flag the announcement post about flagging posts...
My bad practical joke is ruined by me not being able to see the flag button...

Can any member hit that flag button? or just the VIP reviewers? It could create a lot of confusion in the forums with posts disappearing and reappearing if anyone can flag a post.

I believe Paul 86'ed the flag feature, it was causing problems in that our mods lost the 'modify' option. This of course is one of the very important features we use to keep the forum "family friendly".
