I handled it at KoA a while back. It was decent, nothing too special. Take it with a grain of salt, though, since I wasn't seriously considering it.

That thing's heavy!! I mean, 3lb 7oz is too much for a single handed sword in my opinion. If you like the look of it, go for it but don't respect it to be a fast and nicely handling sword.

Welcome to the forum Bdbear!
About that model, here is my humble opinion: Aesthetically, apart from the inexplicable ricasso and chrome finish on hilt parts, it is a relatively nice tentative to replicate one very nice sword from Oakeshott's Records of the Medieval Sword (X.15?)...pity there isn't more replicas of that particular sword (double fullers are sweet, nice guard shape, among other things, in Oakeshott's book it looks like a really great sword of the type, I liked it at first glance) in our price range...but the weight and -I assume from previous reports on it, not from experience- wrong mass distribution (lack of distal taper) ruins it a bit (that and the aforementioned ricasso).
I think somebody did a review on this model in the review section? It's worth checking it out.
For the low price at which it can be purchased, as a first medieval sword, I think one could do worst...
(Shouldn't this go in the Medieval swords section?)

I have handled it recently. Far too blade heavy in my opinion.

Type X's usually are.
That 'inexplicable' ricasso threw me off as well...I was checking this one out last night. I love the double fullers but that ricasso killed it for me. Its on sale too...

That is heavy for a single handed sword, based on what others have said. It might not be very swift or agile, but if you hit someone with it I seriously doubt that they would still be standing. I thought that the river witham was a viking sword. Doesn't generation 2 or some other company have one?

Yeah, Gen 2 has a viking sword with the same name.
