Eh, that one should be okay, I guess. You'll be hard pressed to find much of a really good tanto for $50 or less.

My experience with cheap tantos is that you'll probably have to do some work on the tsuka for it to be of much use. The money is saved somewhere. I'd put in a few bucks more and go for the safe. I've heard nothing but good about the Hanwei tantos. The Practical at $85 at KOA is probably the best deal for the price, the Practical Plus at $130 is probably the best you get for little money. The Cold Steel Kwaiken looks very interesting, and is only $90. But of course, if 50 is your limit and you like how it looks, post your experience with it.

If it's a 1065 steel full tang tanto and adds the certainly nice extra of genuine rayskin tsuka wrap and cotton Ito, it certainly SOUNDS good. A friend of mine has one of these and I must say it is quite a nice piece. Some reviews of this same Tanto over at Hanzo Swords give it the status of "near museum piece". I wouldn't exagerate that much, but it's a really good piece. However, Masahiro/Ryumon is infamous due to it's horrible quality control. Buy from someone who has a tough as nails reputation for it's customer service, like Kult of Athena. I don't know about TrueSwords tho.
