Hello, I went to the Reviews Index to find my old reviews to add the "Pros, Cons", etc to and could not find one review of mine in that list. I know in the past I did reviews on several swords. Where are they? Thanks, FB

Hey Kenpachy, No problem, I can understand things happening like that. Computers and things pertaining to them give me fits anyway. I just hate certain info was lost. I had done reviews on several swords including my Cold Steel Cav Sabre, MRL's cav sabre, Ames' repro/continuation cav sabre, my MRL Viking swords, etc.
But the review that I hate losing the most was a review I did on an orginal U.S. Civil War cavalry sabre made by Henry Boker, Solingen, Germany, carried by a member of the "Prattville Dragoons" (Co. "H", 3rd Ala. Cav. Regt. CSA). The trooper was Pvt. John Lewis Rawlinson, my wife's great great grandfather.
I hate that that info was lost because it was not just another original Ames sabre or other U.S. manufactorer. It was made by Henry Boker out of Germany and I know of no others. It was the most well balanced, quick, wonderful feeling sabre I have ever held. And I have owned or held many orginals and repros.
But things happen. I intend on getting that Shamshir/Scimitar from MRL one of these days. I have held it at their shop and it was a very light, quick sword that just flicks and dances in your hand. It was a joy to hold and I look forward to doing a review on it. Later, FB

Aw man! Thanks Hotspur!! I knew I had posted some reviews about my swords, but could not remember if I put them all on those and this forum or not. Now if anyone is curious about them they can click on those links. Again, thanks ol' buddy!! Some of those swords I don't even have anymore. FB

Hey Hotspur, I forgot to add that I just stepped over to SFI and posted something for the first time in ages. I had gotten offended by the way I was spoken to by some moderator over something I said in a post and swore I would never go back there. But after all this time I can barely remember the incident and realized how silly that was to hold a grudge for so long, etc, so I went and signed in and posted a quick question about my katana just to say howdy and for old times sake. Later, Fb

Yep, I reckon so. I remember years ago when the whole format and set up at SFI was completely different and everyone had usernames. I used to think some of those usernames were neat. I remember one guy called "Sollitaire". I remember that the man and woman that ran a class for Rapier sword fighting in several states and/or locales remarked that "Solitaire", only like 18 at the time, was quite deadly (I suppose he was one of their students), and had learned the rapier well.
I have since wondered whatever happened to Solitaire and if he stuck with his sword fighting studies. I wonder if the man and woman still teach their classes. At the time, in the '90s, they had just started a class in Decatur, Ala., and had them in I think Tennesse and Ga.. For the life of me I can not think of their names. Great folks though. Later, Freebooter Alabama
