If I were going to get this one, I would personally ask chris to not fuller the blade, it isn't really accurate to the time period and somehow it does something strange to the aesthetic of the blade. I would also ask for something like a purple heart or ebony. It would be awesome if the blade was given a heat treatment to give it a rich bronze colour. I can't comment on the quality of this one, but when I receive my custom I will give some thoughts on quality and such

Haven't ordered yet, just waiting for my paypal money to go through to paypal so I can pay for it. As it is, all I will say is it is based on one of the forum member's designs

I thought their Achilles sword a bit clunky looking and too long. Most bronze swords of that era were much shorter an leaner

I dont know if I'd call it a sword from that era,it's really just a movie sword copy. Actually I know it's not klunky ( I bought one of the first ones) at all actually it's a dam fast sword.I think the main reason swords of that era were short was because bronze is heavy and pretty soft.A few hits to the blade and it is either dull or has some bad ding/cut marks in it. I dont know if anybody has noticed but kult of Athena carries the Scorpion version now. www.kultofathena.com/new_items.asp

man i love that sword , ive also wanted one for some time now. my only worry is how the hilt is held on, i see no rivets or anything , i hope in not just epoxied on, handle looks a lil chunky , but all in all it looks sweet. No, I have the Strider from Scorpion. He pretty much uses hidden rivets and then puts epoxy on it just in case, but it's not what it relies on. Look at my review of the Strider knife, I go more in depth there... and PM me (or Chris, the owner of Scorpion) if you have more questions. I own the Strider knife and the Dory (Spartan) bow and can attest to their quality and Chris' costumer service.
