I posted my thread under the wrong group, so I decided to post it again, this time in the rite place. I apologize for any inconvenience I've caused to the administration. ( won't happen again.)
Hi SBG forum,
This is my first post since my welcome wagon.
I have a Cheness Cutlery katana which I got for my last birthday. Amazing sword! love it. I wanted to put up pics when I first received it, but haven't figured out how to post pics yet.( could use a 'lil help wit that too,) For my coming birthday (which is in October) I'm determined to get a Roman Gladius. They are the second group of warriors I admire the most after the Samurai. I checked out all the reviews on the website and I'm seriously considering the Kris Kutlery Gladius. It had the best reviews and more than anything a good rating on structural integrity ( which I consider the most important attribute) If anyone has more info on the Gladius or advice on my choice of sword smith, let me know. I appreciate all the advice I can get. Thanx everyone. Hope your summer's going great!

darkwing7: Oh, you'll pay, you'll pay, and dearly! (Nah, just kidding.) RicWilly is THE MAN to talk to about gladii, and if you've read the reviews, you'll have seen his cutting and know his opinions. Since you say structural integrity is the most important attribute, you won't be as picky about appearance details (like some of the reenactors). This is not to denigrate the reenactors---they probably do a lot less backyard cutting. If you have an itch that just has to be scratched, the Windlass Qama is very gladius looking in blade, albeit hilted differently. It's pretty much dirt cheap and it is a cutting son-of-a-gun. Best of luck!

Darkwing, since you been reading the reviews, you already know the Kris Cutlery is the best gladius under $300 in my opinion. I haven't been able to break mine.
