Has anyone tested the new Cas Hanwei Raptor Katana that Bugei is selling? It is offered extremely cheap as an introductory price. I was wondering if someone has truly tested it yet (stress/torture testing)?

So you think its a safe bet to assume its a good blade. I have a cold steel warrior series. I am really looking for something that can match to the durability and sharpness without the bulk. I would really love Paul to do a review on one.

i am prety sure that they are very great swords. because the blade is more solid as the practical line. it would be( as people talk about) same as spring steel.
and they are less heavy that the musha class.
so, my opinion,, yeah they are a good investment.
i love the DF musha class i have them all and i can tell you,, will have anyother DF musha class if there are anyothers that would come out for sure. and i am sure that the raptors can be compared to the musha class. correct me anyone if you do not agree, i don't say that only what i say is good or true here,, it is (my) swords entousiasm who is talking here (marc lecompte) lol
my .02 cents

if you haven't ordered it already, I suggest buying from www.wiwingtiswordsupply.comWiwingti (the member here) owns/operates it. He rocks, and you would be hard pressed to beat his prices. He's a nice guy, and doesn't want to push advertisements everywhere, so that's probaby why he didn't say anything. Regardless, check out his site! ;D -Slyer

There's been two reviews out on these. The unokubi done by Mr. Ridgeway and the shobu by Shadowhowler. Maybe not torture tests by the Southren standard but 4 1/2" of bamboo says something.

I have the Raptor that Marc cut up that bamboo with... and I can tell ya right now, no evidence of damage. The Raptors are solid blades.
