Do they mean custom, as in it fits you? Or just "customized" to their specs?

Damn...can't see that site either. What is it made of? Traditionally, or is it high impact plastic?

Apparently Lacquered iron... I think. Sounds traditional enough.

The cheapest sets are about average for SCA used armours at between 1 and 2 thousand dollars.
But the bulk of them are around the $4k to $9k range and they extend on up to $20k.
Now, for handmade gear with traditional materials, using traditional methods, that's about average.
The question is whether they used period techniques.

They sell for Marutake Sangyo. About as traditional as you can get without going antique. All traditional materials, and mostly traditional methods. I'm saving up for one as we...type.

I see; at least with SCA armor you can cobble together a decent harness. It looks like with this, you'd need to have the entire set of matched parts. That is not to say that I don't see the value in it...I'm in the process of upgrading my kit now, I just don't have that kinda money to shell out. If I ever hit the lottery, you boys'll be in for a treat because I'll have an entire armory. You'd have to come see it.
