So, someone tried to steal my Harley... My wife left the garage door open last night while I was at work. About 3am, the neighbors across the street observed an unidentified male in my garage leaning over my Harley-Davidson in the darkness. A phone call to 911 was made, and the officers arrived at my residence shortly thereafter. The suspect was caught totally off-guard while in the act... Yes, I am serious. My 14c composite harness on its stand was suspected of being a would-be thief. I keep the stand in the garage because my wife is creeped out by it. I did not press charges against the suspect. He was let off with a verbal warning.

Hee, hee, heee! Good thing they weren't too trigger-happy or you might be "ascertaining as to the bullet-resistance of your plate." Uh... were they able to cuff him? ;D I can just see the response as soon as the first flashlight hit your armor. "WHAT THE $#@&* IS THAT!!!!"

I hope you let that interloper know in no uncertain terms that this sort of behaviour will not be tolerated.
Seriously though, that has to be the funniest thing I've heard so far today; thanks for sharing!

Haha not where I thought this story was going to go. That's much funnier. I would have loved to hear the cops responce as they walked up.

My wife thinks it looks like a Cylon from the old Battlestar Galactica series. I am inclined to agree...

Crackel... feed back...... We have the perpetrator in sight... he's just standing there..... and he's real shiny. When told to freeze I bet he didn't move a muscle with all those guns pointed at him. Got a good laugh, thanks. On a side note - at least your neighbors care

My wife thinks it looks like a Cylon from the old Battlestar Galactica series. I am inclined to agree... Now you have two reasons to move it into the house: No more calls from spooked neighbors, and tell your wife that you'll threaten to put in a moving red LED light in the eyepiece if it doesn't happen . . . . 'course, the moving red LED in Cylon-looking armor might actually be a pretty handy thief deterrent . . . --Edward

lol superb!
It must be quite gratifying to know that the neighbors keep their eyes open though. You must live in a good area. Such community spirit should be encouraged. We certainly don't have anything like it in the UK.

Aussies are pretty good on the whole, funny thing with the neighbours its good when they pay interest, except at bottle cutting time when they think your wierd for cutting waterbottles with swords. My father in law (ex-military guy) has an appreciation of my blades but when he heard I bottle cut he gave me a look as much to say "Your the nerd who married my daughter" ........... he he

Glad that it was a falls call, I work on H-D's and thats my main worry, My first bike got stolen a long time ago, I tell my customers to get things like the disc lock that screems when ya move the bike........SanMarc.
And you should get a pick of your steel on the bike with the red L.E.D. in the visor!
