He mentioned it is peened when he was explaining the hilt details. Plus there is a picture of the peen on the hilt.

Karma from me to. Just one thing... Historical viking pommels wouldn't have all lobes separately attached to the base. Just base (upper pommel) plus lobes, the real pommel, in one piece. Upper guard would be peened to the tang and lobated pommel part riveted to the upper pommel with two rivets at the each side. Picture by Nathan Robinson of myarmoury.

Hmm...I've been sorta wanting a Viking type blade for a while now...this was a very convincing argument to that end, Skallagrim. Thanks.

A very well done review Skallagrim! Bravo
I am in complete agreement with you regarding this sword, for it's price-range, as an entry level sword, it's hard to beat...
Cheers

Excellent review Bjørn !! The video and photos really helped in showing the attributes of the sword. No matter what some would have us believe, Windlass does produce some very nice swords, and this is one. Looks like you're still losing weight !! + 1 2 U. Hmm...I've been sorta wanting a Viking type blade for a while now...this was a very convincing argument to that end, Skallagrim. Thanks. I agree. For this price, it would be pretty hard to go wrong.

Very nice and beautiful blade! I like the weight-more agile than my Del Tin. Gotta love Viking long swords! +1

I always have to point out, when someone mention's "KOA's sharpening service," that they do not in fact do their own sharpening. They get the sharp versions directly from the manufacturer, which is why it takes an extra week to get a sharp version. Anyway, nice review. I always love seeing ones on Viking swords!

Still, it is the service they offer. And it could be improved upon.

Nice revue, I was looking at that one as the price is right, with the peened pommel it is a good deal even if it is rather plain.
+1 for ya.................SanMarc.
