I have been hunting like a bloodhound trying to find a legitimate vendor that can sell me the sadly discontinued Windlass Ulfberht Sword. After a very long time hunting and searching I found it available at a website called Silvermane for a little above its original selling price. Link: www.silvermane.com/acatalog/MR-500864.htmlI have desperately wanted a sword liek the Ulfberht for a long while. Light, fast, and shaped for quick cutting. On the other hand, the website seems sort of sketchy. Does anyone know if this site is worth trusting for the Ulfberht? If not, can anyone recommend to me a sword with the same lightweight and swift characteristics within the same price range? Help would be greatly appreciated.

Site seems okay to me, a bit pricey, but not overly sketchy.

Their prices are typically at the top of the retail scale. If they have something listed on the site, follow up with them in email or phone to make sure something is in stock. Their bread and butter sales are from the renn faire season and the sites themselves may not get updated in a timely fashion. They have a brick and mortar store up the road from me but haven't seen the shop. I have visited their tent a couple of times and they seem professional and legitimate enough.
Cheers
Hotspur; they had a rack of at least a couple of dozen different swords in the tent I visited (some years ago now) , along with tables of typical wares

If you look at Paul Southren's 'recomended sellers', Silvermane is listed there. If Paul says they're reliable, I'd trust them.

Like Glen said, at the higher end of the price range, but a reputable company nonetheless. I've done business with them once or twice in the past, no problems that I can recall.
