I ran across a couple weapons by these guys on ebay and they look interesting. Unfortunately neither the forge's website nor the auction listings say much about the materials or forging process.
Anyone have any experience with them?

I looked at the two weapons they have on Ebay, and some of their armour on their website. The weapons on Ebay look pretty rough... they might be tough as hell, they certainly have the look that they would be, but very unrefined. If your looking for something that looks really, really rough but will take a beating, they might fit the bill, only one way to find out. The Armour on their website looks a bit more refined then their weapons... maybe they have more practice making armour then weapons. If ya get any of these weapons... do a review. They are not my taste... but I always like reading about different stuff.

Posting links is fine... as long as it's not in the clasifieds... you can't post links there to auctions or anything like that.

That is REALLY heavy for a sword of that type and size. And blade looks rather crudely done...but for a 100 bucks...not a bad deal if that look floats your boat. But hardly a sword I would use for anything practical.
And yeah, it does looks like they are starting up weapons not so long ago and this maybe a rude first try they are just selling off.

I like the music on their website though. Reminds me of Diablo.
P.S: Off topic, but what type of music is it?

That metal looks like if might have come from a trucks leaf spring (or similar stock material) but better eyes than mine would need to make that call. 4lbs is pretty heavy for that size of blade but from the pics and description it sounds like a solid beater. At only $100 I might say what the heck had I the money.

I couldn't see the sword but I can probably guess what it might look like; their armor looks nice but their home website doesn't say anything about what they do, who they are or why they do it.

The armour they had on their website looked great. And is Very competitively priced. I might even consider that $1150 suit since it's looking like it'll cost less than the one I'm trying to make myself...

This... www.ironshieldarmory.com/snow2.html...is BADASS! I know what I am doing for my next set of plate! I'll buy from any guy that has a set of rusted armor crucified in his front yard AND records his own website music! I like his tune so much, I've got his home page theme paying in the background in another tab of IE.

That is a beastly suit there Odin....hmm...looks like something out of a Jacqueline Carey novel. Could be a Staccian field harness...especially love that helm. Hard to find a decent helm.

The sword in the picture appears to be cut out of a piece of plate. Nothing at all wrong with that but the surface looks like the finish that steel plate comes with so it likely hasn't been heat treated. There is very little bevel on the edge so even if it was hardened and tempered it wouldn't have much of an edge. No mention of steel type so it could be mild steel and wouldn't take a heat treat anyway. It's a nice fantasy design and it's only $100. If you want something to hang on the wall or pound on trees with, it might be just the thing.

Yeah... their armour looks awesome... the weapons... not so much. Thats why I'm thinking they have been making the armour for awhile, and are just starting to fiddle with weapons.

Seems like a weekend garage armorer. That is not a bad thing. I know an armorer who has a shop in his garage and I have been working together with him to make some nice functional armor very cheaply. Just be careful you don't overpay.
Looking at close up of the work, I don't particularly like the elbow articulation in some of the images on this site. That is something I would pay extra attention to.

The Armour looks nice but I’m not sure how practical it would be.
Any website that plays music, and does not give me the option of turning it off, looses my interest very quickly. Yeah I can understand the website owners may want to give the site a trendy feel, but not everyone wants to listen to their music. To make matters worse their website isn't exactly the easiest to navigate round. I gave up after about a minute. In that minute of looking I did not see any of their swords so cant comment.
