does anyone have any decent pictures or any experience with this sword? It has a great weight and is one of my favourite looking blades that I am considering saving up for.
Thanks guys.

Yea aesthetically, that is a beautiful blade. I wouldn't mind having one just as a collection piece if nothing else.

this is just secondhand and such as i've only seen it never handled it... but i remember reading a few reviews on sfi saying it was a real nice sword (which i think is obvious) a few people said it might be too thin and light to really use it as a cutter other than some light stuff around the dojo. again thats just secondhand from what i read. i'd search around on sfi for some more info on it

I have one and it is as nice as everyone say it is. My first impression of it was that it was a light sword, but now I think it is just right in weight. I compared it to the latest version of the Hanwei PPK and noticed that the Orchid tapers in thickness and width quite fast to the yokote, 6.5mm to 4mm and 30mm to 20mm respectively. The PPK does 4.5mm to 3.5mm and 30mm to 22mm respectively. The difference is very obvious. The hada is said to show the folded pattern, but mine doesn't. There is a review of the Hanwei Tiger Elite on the wiwingti forum and if I had to choose between the Orchid and the Tiger, I'd choose the Tiger. It cost only a little more, but Marc's price is good. Edit update: I took a closer look at the hada of my Orchid sword and it does show the evidence of folding. The wavy layers is much finer than that on my other folded swords, my Dynasty Forge shobu and my Katsumoto Dragon.
